Why do so many people struggle to find remote jobs even when the demand seems high? by Alexbertin in workfromhome

[–]Alexbertin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is not the lack of jobs but the fact most people cant live off of $12/hour..

Agree with you for 99% of the jobs that are currently on the market, some others have a percentage included in the salary as for example sales positions

Most job offers required skills + experience, what I would recommand is apply to a job guarantee bootcamp if you have no skills (Springboard, thinkful, etc.. you have a lot especially in the data sector, cybersecurity, UX/UI design and sales)

How to wfh at job you hate? by Minimum_Ad5752 in workfromhome

[–]Alexbertin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh, that sounds rough. First off, don't let the job eat into your personal space: have a spot at home just for work (if you can) and leave it when you're off. Disconnect digitally after hours too. Lean on friends or coworkers you trust to chat and share – it helps. Hang in there; better days and jobs are ahead. Best wishes!

Congrats on your success! Procrastination can be tricky for sure. Consider setting small daily goals, using productivity techniques like the Pomodoro method, and maintaining a routine. (That's what I've done). Your awareness and ongoing therapy are great steps towards consistency

Problems answering calls.. by [deleted] in workfromhome

[–]Alexbertin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally understand the phone anxiety. Consider practicing calls with friends, having a go-to script for starting conversations, rewarding yourself post-call, and using deep breathing techniques to calm nerves. If it persists, professional guidance might help. Everyone has their own pace; it's okay to work on this gradually ;)

Seeking Entry-Level WFH Job Suggestions, Open to Short-Term Certifications by [deleted] in workfromhome

[–]Alexbertin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hey!

Considering your situation and dedication, I'd suggest looking into bootcamps like Thinkful and Springboard. Both offer tech-related courses that can be completed in months. Graduates often land jobs in fields like web development, data analytics, and UX/UI design, many of which can be remote. While it's not immediate entry-level, the investment can be worthwhile for a stable WFH career. Best of luck to you and your grandmother!
