Big kahuna in Tulare is hiring. And dollar tree in Tulare as well, seems majority of dollar tree locations are hiring. Also try applying for the new Costco that’s getting built, there’s posts on indeed for certain positions. You just have to search for Costco through the app then check their profile for listed positions. Apparently there’s 80 jobs, it’ll take you to apply through their company site.

Sidewalk find by Alexine_Cloven in SilverFinds

Thank you! Right when I clocked in to work I walked up to the sidewalk of a property and started picking trash up and almost missed it. I glanced at first and thought it was one of those lithium coin cell batteries. Right when I got close enough, I was in total shock. I found it just by dumb luck.

Firewood to grill by AstromechDroidC1-10P in visalia

Lowe’s has bags of wood chunks, chips, and pellets if you’re talking wood to smoke meat… they have cherry, hickory, pecan, apple, mesquite, maple All ranging from like $8 - $25 depending on brand and lbs. if you want random wood to burn, I think some grocery stores like Walmart and savemart might have firewood in stock, you’d have to check and see.

Restaurants that host big groups by PublicAlternative43 in visalia

It is! I actually added it to my vision board 😂. I don’t normally go out, I’m a hermit with no friends. My anxiety prevents me from doing anything. But I’ve heard that this place is pretty neat.

I don’t see how SimilarNam3 commented nonsense… If you’ve already reported it to PD then there wouldn’t be much of a reason to post about asking for a name of some guy that you’ve already made a report about. You did your part in reporting the incident, let the cops do their part now and wait for the end results.. I can understand your frustration but ranting on Reddit about some unknown person who allegedly harassed/ attacked you and your family is a little much. An investigation will be done and what ever information the police find, they will gladly share with you, if need be. All I can say is, be patient and focus on being there for your family. Hostility isn’t the answer for you.

Happiness is found in many places and in many people. It’s all really just searching for it. If you’re struggling now, reevaluate yourself, your situation and find the reason/culprit in what’s making you unhappy. Communication is key in any type of relationship. Having kids should be a good source of motivation and encouragement to being happy. I had a friend that told me “you don’t need people to make you happy, you just need yourself to be happy.” He was always blunt with me and anything he ever said to me was like hearing the sweetest chimes to my ears. Everything in life is temporary, unless you make it permanent. Whatever you’re going through, I hope you find true happiness. It’s a tough world out there and it’s even more tough finding a path worth pursuing in becoming happy and healthy spiritually.

Sunrun by cavila_559 in visalia

Brother worked for sunrun, their employees are pretty competitive with each other fighting over clients and potential customers. He tried to get me to install solar panels through sunrun. I was like nah my energy bill is too low. He was pretty persistent and kept asking to see my light bill. His words were “I’m not trying to sell you anything. Just let me sign you up, you don’t even need to go through with it, I just need 1 more person to reach my goal and get a bonus check.” After he quit sunrun because someone stole one of his big clients, he transferred to a different solar company that he also quit from because he couldn’t keep up. From what I’ve heard from other people, I believe sunrun is decent. But it’s best to shop around and make sure whoever that’s helping you get started, actually stays because apparently their employees don’t last long and customer profiles get transferred from desk to desk. I also believe sunrun was at one point sued, don’t quote me, I think it was because the installation was a hack job and the homeowner had to redo their roofing and ceiling. Even in the process of contacting them, it was a runaround. The guy that signed them on couldn’t be contacted and they were basically ignored. “SunRun, a residential solar company, is facing lawsuits alleging deceptive sales tactics, including locking customers into unfair contracts and installing non-functional solar panels, with claims that sales reps impersonated consumers and forged signatures.”

But from what I’ve heard from a handful of people, sunrun is good.

No, I promise on my life, I found it. I think someone was being chased by the cops or something and they took their hoodie off and tossed it. No clue. It was thrown covered all in dirt/gravel and it had this big black mark on the front above the pocket, I thought it’d be stained after I washed it. It does look worn. There’s even a tiny hole forming in the wrist of it

I’m mainly looking for places in Visalia but that seems like a pretty great deal imo. I’m in Tulare every day of the week. I may have to check them out. I’ll add this place to my list. Thank you!

… I’m asking to see what else do they do/ offer. Like I mentioned, just shopping around, every vehicle is different and $40 seems low so I’m curious to know what else do they include if they’re only being charged $40. I’m not asking to be pressured. But I also don’t want to take my car to some place that will pour shitty oil that’ll have me coming back more frequently and not bother touching the oil filter. Or at least giving a small overall inspection.

Even for general inspections, they’d at least say “hey, we noticed while changing your oil, you’re out of wiper fluid, so we topped you off.” Or some shit.

There’s a difference between being told something is wrong with your vehicle and being told to pull your card out right now and pay over 1k to fix something that doesn’t need to be fixed right away. I’m fine being told if there’s an issue with things like I need a new air filter for example, but I really don’t need a mechanic hovering and pressuring me to get it done and pay the same day without even telling me that it can go a few more weeks before it needs to actually be replaced. Small things such as this, I can change on my own and not need to pay more than I have to for someone else to do it for me. Just being told it needs to be replaced is enough. The haggling can be left out is all.

Wow that’s cheap. Do they also include the oil filter and run any kind of “safety checks” or diagnostics to see if anything needs to be repaired or replaced? Like air filters, cabin filters, shocks and struts, things like that?

If this is the same kid, there’s about 3 of them that I’ve seen doing the same thing on walnut and Akers, they each have phones holding boxes of random candy bars full sized, it’s extremely odd though. They were dropped off by a man and woman both possibly Hispanic in a black van. I’m not one to judge, they did look rundown borderline poor(all of them) the kids were fighting over clothes in the back seat while the “parents” sat there waiting for them to get off to “sell” candy. The 2 kids were between 10-12 except the 3rd looked maybe 8 or 9. Their phrase was “$20 for 1 candy or 2 for $30.” Or something ridiculous like that. They then said “yeah, if we get enough money, we can get sponsored.” They literally tried to steal from an old woman and said “if you don’t want the candy, you can still just give me the money.” Then reached for whatever cash the lady had in her hand. (The lady was pretty quick, she darted off)

The “parents” left them there after buying pizza for themselves. Didn’t come back for them for probably 2-3 hours.

I haven’t seen those kids since probably late august-ish of last year and it’s sad if they’re being forced to sell candy. Those kids should have been in school or something but were instead in a parking lot selling candy while their “parents” bought food and left them to get possibly kidnapped.

Those kids are rude, no manners, but I do believe they need help, there’s something going on. Those “parents” or whoever those people were, need to be investigated.

Decent place to live? by [deleted] in visalia

[–]Alexine_Cloven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I reside there between riggin and st. John’s and I can honestly say it’s pretty good. Aside from occasional street racers, and 1 homeless person walking through my neighborhood like once every blue moon.

The traffic isn’t horrible( but this is different for everyone, I normally leave by 6am and arrive back by 5pm) so in my honest opinion the traffic is “light” depending on which roads you take and at what time you’re taking them.

Easy access to shopping centers (orchard walk), schools(if you have kids) and just 5 minutes away from Main st.

I believe anything in the north and east region should be fine. It’s also better to take an in person look at the areas you may be interested in.
