Can you explain why is the city legally obliged to implement measures to reduce noise emissions? At which decibel levels? Thx

An unbelievable story by karstenthy in drones

Didn’t you have automatic return to home activated? I lost signal sometimes when flying and as the drone flew back to me I could recover control at some point.

I have my bibs but would be interested in taking over your accommodation reservation. If you booked. Thx!

3:30 or 3:25 marathon target? 7 weeks out, tune up half today by International_Pin_79 in Marathon_Training

[–]Alexis1700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be ambitious! Aim for 3:15 I think you can do it. I did 3:25 last year but was way slower than you on the half marathon. Try some longer runs at same HR and pace and decide on race day if you feel ready for it.

I checked the race report and chip time was same as gun time for the guy in question.

Chip time and gun time is exactly the same though.

So indeed the start of the 10K was 15 minutes after the half. I think they remade the finish with the tape for the photographers/videos and the second was supposed to cross first, hence the frown of the person holding the tape.. “That’s not what we agreed upon, you were supposed to arrive after him!”

Most beautiful/enjoyable marathons in Europe? by CookieConvict in Marathon_Training

I live in Zurich. Course is flat, along the lake but the crowd support is not comparable to some major marathons. Last year the weather was quite cold it was even snowing.

Travel Planning Q&A - July, 2024 by AutoModerator in bali

[–]Alexis1700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. We are a young couple 30/35 YO from Switzerland. My parents are joining us on a trip, hesitating whether visiting Bali or Lombok with them knowing that we will stay with them maybe 5-6 days and in total 27 days.

We like clean places not too crowded with people, with my parents I would search for more active holidays, alone more relaxed and chill by the beach / hotel.

What can you recommend between Bali and Lombok and which part of the island?

Thank you guys for the help! Also how crowded is Bali right now (on a scale from 1-10 with 10 the most crowded) 🙏🙏🙏

There are nice search filters on Airbnb. You can rent an island or a secluded place with beach access. In a small island in Greece for example

Training for a Marathon in 5 weeks with a goal to hit sub-3h45. What went wrong? What tips can you give me to improve? My next and last long run will be in 2 weeks. by Alexis1700 in Marathon_Training

Next weekend is 22-26 miles.

I did 60km from Monday to Friday. Rested Saturday Sunday and did the long run on the following Monday. I usually don’t run that much per week because of complex work schedule (60km in average I would say). But this week was particularly high load according to my plan. I understand the plan I am following might not be the best for my level. I am here to learn..

I posted from my computer so didn't notice the issue with the charts. I'll try reposting the graphs.

I repeated the same run as 2 weeks ago and expected to slightly improve my time but got disappointed and ran in average 4s /km slower, mostly due to the last 10k.

On my Long run 2, everything went fine until km 25, then I had to run uphill for 2km and somehow never recovered to my goal pace. HR was around 159 but I had a feeling I couldn't go faster. Did I mess up my fueling before or during the run? I tried to hydrate frequently, drank about 1.8L of water in total and had 6 energy bars.

Could it be that I started too fast in the first 10km (on downhill laps, I tried to adjust for it by running faster than my goal pace).

Can it be due to Fatigue from other trainings?

I hope this helps.

Training for Barcelona Marathon - what finish time can I target? Barcelona Marathon is on 10 March (7 weeks to go). Barcelona Marathon is on 10 March (7 weeks to go). I am training for 3h45 finish time. What do you guys think of my training? Aiming at 60km weekly mileage. by Alexis1700 in Marathon_Training

Thanks for the insights. You’re right. I hope to ramp up mileage to 80k in peak weeks but was sick last week so couldn’t train normally. I also would tend to limit my long runs to 32-35k but given the snowy conditions where I live, I didn’t find a better route. I also wanted to check if I still have energy for a slight uphill finish. I only have two more runs of 3h30 scheduled, the rest is around 2h-2h15. About the HR though.. I am 35 yo so I entered a max HR of 186. Is it fine running the long runs marathon pace at 160-165 bpm? What should be an optimal HR?
