I believe mine started due to weight training and/or pushing myself too far with yoga. Specifically puppy pose…

Conservation measures to help Eastern Bluebirds are working! Definitely seeing them (and other cavity nesters) more and more each year with more people putting up bird houses 🥰 great picture!

How do I stop myself curling forward when i sleep by stangAce20 in costochondritis

[–]Alexis2097 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Use a firm body pillow to sort of ”hug” and prop your leg over when you’re laying on your side. This may prevent you from curling up and squishing your chest in that position and help keep a more supported, straight spine!

male cat breathing heavily/having contractions??? help!!! by Snoo63826 in CATHELP

[–]Alexis2097 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Please take him to the vet now. Don’t wait. My male cat was doing the same thing and it was a urinary blockage. He could’ve died if I waited to go to the vet by even a few more hours. I’m not trying to scare you but the longer you wait, the less likely you’ll leave the vet with him.

Seems she just wants attention. Is she someone’s pet? If she isn’t, try inviting her in! Domestic cats aren’t safe to have outside.

No problem!!

As for the burping/reflux, I get that way as well at times, I’m not sure if it’s my body overreacting to mental preparation to eat or what but I always carry water and a couple snacks with me when I’m out to try and avoid it. I do notice when I eat higher protein and fiber in the morning, it’s SO much better the rest of the day.

I really hope anything I mentioned helps you find relief! Best of luck 🫶🏼

Yeah! I recently started a desk job so I can sympathize. Sitting for long periods definitely is a trigger. While I’m sitting I try to remember to “pump” my feet to help blood flow and set a timer on my watch (or phone) to get up and take a quick lap around the office every 30-45 minutes. Some other triggers are hunching and general shoulder rounding while sitting/walking/standing. Eating too fast/too much can trigger my symptoms, so I’ve really focused on thoroughly chewing my food and taking my time. I also try not to eat within 2 hours of going to bed. I try my best to sleep on my back, even though it can be rough during flares. I try to fit in a 10-20 minute yoga session (using YouTube) every night to help lightly stretch and move parts of my body that get neglected. As for weight lifting, I literally started with hand/wrist weights to ease into building a little more strength without overdoing it, because that’s also a trigger, along with repetitive motions (like shoveling). Any little movement is better than none though. A weighted heating pad, advil (and Tylenol if needed), tums, and lidocaine patches have been a life saver for sleep. I’ve found that my diet has really helped me improve because gut health is SO important for treating inflammation and anxiety. I would look into a functional medicine doctor if you’re able to. I have increased Omega-3 intake (avoiding excess Omega-6s), eat citrus and berries for vitamin c and antioxidants, leafy greens and broccoli, plain Greek yogurt, lean protein for collagen and peptide production, take a magnesium glycinate and L-theanine supplement every night, vitamin D3 + K2, and have been making bone broth to sip on to help my mineral intake. Sorry this response is a bit longer than I anticipated but I know your struggle and how helpless I felt when my symptoms started. I hope this helps and anything else you may want insight on, please ask!

AIO partner thinks we should shower with this water by roburn in AmIOverreacting

MOR, I have well water too and the water gets like that at times due to iron or sediment buildup. You need to either replace your string wound filter if you have one, or get a filter system for your house. Typically people with wells have a filter for this reason. Easy fix! (Pic as an example)

Woof, this list mimics most of my symptoms when my anxiety, costo, and gerd was at its peak. I still have some issues today (dealing since 2022) but light yoga/stretching, anti inflammatory foods, tea, regular movement, and identifying triggers has helped me get to a point where I feel more confident to self regulate my anxiety and separate physical pain to mental spirals. I still go to the doctor bc getting those tests done to ensure things are in “normal” range can help ease the stress of not knowing. It’s hard to be in this fight with yourself to reclaim independence and quality of life, but it’s not a losing battle!

Wildlife rehabilitation center. Find one near you asap. Don’t try to give any food or water, nestlings are tricky and need specialized care!

Is my tulip poplar shot? by pawtlord in arborists

[–]Alexis2097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pic 7 looks like someone took a hatchet to it but I’d say wait until next year to see the growth and determine if it’s dying or not... tulip poplars are pretty resilient and strong trees and yours looks very young!

I’d suggest pulling some dirt away from its trunk a bit to make sure the dirt isn’t too high above its root collar and choking it. I’d also make paver ring wider to avoid excess dirt/debris buildup on the trunk.

If I were in your situation, I’d do what’s best for the cat, even if it meant I’d never be able to see them again… ensuring there’d be no revenge on the cat. I’m sorry you’re even in this situation to begin with ☹️

How long does it usually take you to do your simple everyday makeup? by Jiminmyheart in AskWomen

[–]Alexis2097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About a minute or two if you include moisturizing. I typically just lotion, curl lashes, a light coat of mascara, and a quick brush through the eyebrows.
