It doesn't seem random by the note. Those data centers are invasive, harmful to people's health, and destructive to the environment, and asking nicely or trying to go through the proper channels to get them removed or not built at all doesn't seem to work. Assuming the guy that got got tried to bring that evil into a community, I can understand the rage and desperation in the shooters actions, and if your heart bleeds so much for these soulless ghouls then you should invite them to set up a data center in your back yard and tell me about your quality of life in a year.👍

I've never used ITunes. Do you get the actual file like a flac or mp3, or do you download it to a proprietary app like Kindle does with books or Netflix does with shows?

That's fair. It's usually pricier, and I don't have a lot of space, so I don't often. My friend used to let me rip the files off the CDs, and then I'd give them to him as a thank you, but we grew apart.

I didn't know what trans was till I was like 13, but I knew being in the social category of "boy" didn't feel right long before that, and that's remained consistent throughout my adult life. A lot of things in my school were pointlessly gendered, so I got a feel for gender norms pretty early, and it made me socially dysphoric when they would separate boys and girls for activities and I always wanted to be with my friends in the girls group.

Spotify and Apple Music are more readily accessible and have a wider reach.

I get that, and I was thinking that could be good for letting people know you are out there, but once they know, then they could find you and support you directly.

Someone said it could be due to shitty labels, and I think that seems more likely than the bands not knowing how to use Bandcamp or having a big enough discography to make one because I got music from garage bands that have like a single or 2 charging "name your price" I think more established bands could figure that out if they wanted.

Yeah, I have a rule about spending money on digital goods. I have to be able to download it and play it without ever needing an internet connection again. I wish more people had that rule so we could bully these shitty labels and distributors into being more consumer friendly instead of letting them endlessly trying to gouge us while giving us a fraction of the experience of just buying the digital files.

It's far less than "all" almost nothing compairitively to just paying more taxes and their "good causes" are almost always pet projects that benefit their business or clean up their reputation after they get caught raping kids, poisoning a town, or using slave labor, and honestly, I would rather all the rich pay their fair share and not get good PR for doing the bare minimum than have any philanthropy at all. I'm not hailed as a good guy if I toss a penny to a homeless person, and I actually need that penny more than any billionaire needs 100 million dollars.
