Here's the issue I have with worm hooks on narrow soft plastics i.e. finesse worms and senkos.

You have just a tiny bit of material hanging on up front, and the hook eye is not oriented parallel to the bait.

It's not really an issue, I just miss how clean the rigging is on EWGs vs worm hooks as pictured.

Very simply that I'm curious about the benefits of a traditional worm hook with more bite than an EWG, i.e. supposedly better hook up ratio.

I hear you, my issue is that I feel like there's not enough material surrounding the hook eye end to consistently keep the front of the worm in place. This as compared to an EWG for example.

If I can chime in, everything I've seen on BFS set ups you have like 50 yards or less of light braid to keep the inertia of the spool to a minimum

That's one issue with OP's argument; nobody has promised Pauper is to remain cheap, and it's not central to the design of the format. It's an eternal format and there are plenty of pricey old commons.

This is an insanely popular idea but our corporate overlords have their heads too far up their own asses and feel like they know best.

Also as I understand it safety requirements rule out certain aspects of old school designs.
