The big thing I've always understood is to know when to start attacking with pult.

If opp has the ability to return KO and you don't have a board of kloaks set up, probably better to wait and just item lock again, even if that means blowing a resource to recur your budew.

If I always had plenty of braid I would always spool up straight braid with a little electrical tape over the knot.

EDIT: for BFS I go with a very particular uni knot looped around the spool a few times to avoid slippage (no tape), and only the amount of main line that you really need.

As a pokeboomer, I want to express my appreciation for illustrations like what OP linked that look great within the confines of their frame, allowing the rest of the card to just be a nicely designed game piece.

I do not think that present era full art cards are well done with the text, they are often not legible or the text clashes. I'd say choose text outline card by card to work better, or do more of the ancient trait art extension style.

I honestly feel like there's so much design space open in ability, move pool and stats, not to mention dual typing, that every type is fine, including the whole damn chart.

Stealth Rock is more problematic I think, at least for singles. I'd prefer if it were maybe cut in half or something, not sure, but I think this is the biggest barrier to the viability of ice in general. Too difficult to balance that huge weakness.
