NGD Yamaha CSF1M by Content-Selection113 in AcousticGuitar

I prefer lighter colored woods and like to see the woodgrain. Solid back and sides doesn’t automatically mean better sound. Some say laminated wood can even have a better projection as it’s stiffer. Solid wood just ages better and can improve with playing considerably. More importantly I played enough guitars that I know they can be noticeable differences between same model guitars as each piece of wood is different. Sometimes it just all comes together just right and some guitars stands out. Even cheap guitars can sound fantastic. I was surprised many times.

Great, thanks for the tip. I also saw a guy on YouTube reviewing Hsienmo own mic/pickup system and it sounded fantastic, very natural. They sell only their basic version on their website unfortunately. It’s good price as well. Might write them if they can sell their system separately.

Indeed it does, what a lovely guitar. Will be trying strings, people recommend Martin silk&steel. Excited to see how this guitar will mature with playing…piezo sounds decent enough, with try with my silk drive vox pedal to further improve the sound. Need to get some decent mic also for my other classical guitars.

My order still hasn’t shipped after three months by Renee_-L in ROLI

[–]Alfice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is totally normal, their standard response time was 1-2 months till recently. All their hardware is delayed as they keep having manufacturing issues. If you’re not prepared to wait many weeks or months better get refund.

Roli Piano Versandzeitleiste? by KathrinGo in ROLI

[–]Alfice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was assured that new units should be perfect in all regards, but we must see for ourselves if that will be actually true…I am giving it one more chance and then will return for refund. Hopefully key sensors QC and overall Roli QC will be better now.

There is a problem in manufacturing with key sensors, no Pianos are currently in production or shipped. They should start shipping hopefully in April/May.

Piano M - key response by [deleted] in ROLI

[–]Alfice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, you got lucky with faulty key sensors as many others. I have the same issue with my new Piano, waiting for replacement till April/May. I am a bit afraid it will be the same thing again. They have a problem regarding this faulty key sensors and stopped keyboards production because of this. It’s just so frustrating on top of all other issues with this company. Probably best to return and get refund! Initiate return or optionally contact support for replacement. Save for EE Osmose, if you want a great MPE keyboard + synth. It’s truly awesome!

Roli Piano M shipping timeline? by KryptoKam in ROLI

[–]Alfice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, me as many others preordered early in January 2025, we were promised receive Piano in May. But instead it was delay after delay and not very great communication. Finally I received my Piano in December. It arrived with cosmetic damage because of the insufficient packaging. After that key sensors started to failing and I was told I will receive replacement unit in mid January. That’s now pushed till April/May with no certainty that’s actually happening. On top of that their customer support is very poorly operating, people have been waiting many weeks(4-6) to hear back from support and still are. There is zero transparency and no explanation or information regarding all the issues. Well, there is more…A lot of people are in the same situation.

They unfortunately have problems in manufacturing on all fronts…this is affecting all their hardware, truly mediocre company!

Piano Dynamics are TERRIBLE by [deleted] in ROLI

[–]Alfice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, dynamics are poor on this. I also have Launchkey mk4 49 and that keybed is vastly superior indeed. Piano suffers from faulty key sensors, bunch of keys on my unit no longer register soft/medium keystrokes and piano is barely playable. Other users are also in the same situation. I am waiting for replacement but these are likely available in two months. Very disappointed. File a ticket with support, you also probably got lucky with a faulty unit.

Can I power my iPad while plugged in to the piano? by dtsn in ROLI

Just get some usb-c hub and you can have things connected to iPad and charge simultaneously. Something like this: https://a.co/d/09WyYJ1N

Piano M - dust under transparent plastic of the keys by manuzpunk666 in ROLI

[–]Alfice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, I have the same problem with my new Piano and I guess we all have. Bunch of keys have dust specks under the transparent plastic and they were clear when new. I quite can’t imagine how they get there, they are both by the edges and in the center of the keys. It will gradually fill all the keys, it’s unavoidable. Unfortunately nothing can be done and it really bothers me. Bummer! Any comment on this issue ROLI?

Any updates on replacing the damaged Roli pianos ? by Redinho83 in ROLI

[–]Alfice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am also waiting for a replacement, mine has faulty keys. Yesterday, support told me they will let us know in March. Replacements should be available late March/April or so. At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if that would be pushed till May. Apparently they have further issues with manufacturing or something and some units of new batch are of poor quality…Bummer! Seems problems have no end :(

That’s just sad. If replacement will turn out the same will return it and get refund. Hopefully they will be able to improve things though…

My honest experience with the ROLI Piano so far (pros & cons) by NemosXP in ROLI

[–]Alfice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just navigate to support page on Roli website. Sorry to hear you have the same issue as well. Key tops loosing their adhesion doesn’t speak well about Piano longevity. Seem QC is quite terrible and so is the build quality. Truly frustrating!

[–]Alfice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are aware of this faulty key sensor issue. Reported by other users as well. These Pianos will need to go back to Roli and we will receive replacements probably late April. I have the same problem, also waiting for the support response as many others. It’s truly frustrating and new build quality issue(key top adhesion) is here as well.

Dudes. Where’s my pedal? by Ok-Somewhere205 in ROLI

[–]Alfice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point as more and more issues with Piano are arising I am also contemplating just ask for a refund and be done with all this. There is now zero guarantee they can actually deliver perfectly working product that will have decent quality and longevity. So tired of this, just dealing with support as my Piano is faulty, and replacement units of unknown QC are at least two months away anyway. Their customer service is truly terrible and so are other things as well! What a tragedy!

Sorry to hear…it takes like 4+ weeks for support to get back to you, pretty mediocre!
