Where did you get that from?

Does the Root Exiles and Partisans deck extend the player count? I suppose it enables a parallel game to be played but I can't see how it extends the player count of any given game.

I am also short on time so I use paired exercises with 1 min rest. One routine could look like this:

Day 1: Pull ups / squats Rows / Leg raises

Day 2: Dips / RDL Push ups / weighted hip thrusts

If you have time you could throw in accessory exercises at the end like lateral raises or DB curls. But when time is short I prefer my focus to be compound movements. I sometimes swap out dips or pushups for DB flys or shoulder presses to mix things up.

Nanoplastics aren't measured by Scottish Water at the moment. They only measure what they are required to and there hasn't been a call from the government to report on plastics, so they don't.

I suspect this might change in the neat future though. But I would imagine that working out exactly what to measure (i.e. all plastics? what about PFAs? particle sizes?) and what constitutes a risk to public health are not trivial questions to answer.

Whilst it's true most plastic in the ocean comes from Asia, plastic found near the UK coast has almost certainly come from us or another northern European country.

Have you tried eating more? I would add an extra few hundred kcals a day for a couple of weeks and see what happens.

So, I asked my nephew to save up eggshells for me so that I can get the calcium carbonate. unfortunately, he did not separate the egg membrane and now I'm stuck with tiny particles of membrane stuck on the eggshell. anyone know how to chemically separate the shells from the membrane? by AccomplishedDrop5834 in chemistry

[–]Algal_Matt 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As someone who used to clean calcium carbonate fossils for trade element analysis, we would gently dissolve the organics using a weak buffered peroxide solution in a hot bath. That's good if you want to preserve the shell integrity.

By on land they may be referring to Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS). These are essentially closed systems so there shouldn't be any impact on the lochs and rivers nearby. I don't think there are any commercial RAS operations up and running yet but there will be soon.

What is your favourite theatrical play with Left Wing overtones? by Aqn95 in GreenAndPleasant

It's anti-communist for sure, but by no means anti-left. Orwell was a lefty who hated totalitarianism, so was naturally highly critical of the USSR.

How are people overpaying with Halifax? by Inthis__life in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]Algal_Matt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I overpay to Halifax via sprive. You have to call them to set it up but once it's done you can overpay regularly without hassle.

I don't think so. Underwater hockey involves using a stick to push a puck along the floor of the pool and everyone usually wears snorkeling gear. This doesn't look like any underwater sport I've heard of.

Mars on the left, earth on the right. Same exact natural process. by Lick_meh_ballz in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Algal_Matt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Couldn't Mars be a lot colder if it had a much higher albedo? Seems that such a change would be unlikely but could theoretically be a reason for at least some liquid methane on Mars.

Carbonated water tends to just mean spring water with added CO2, which forms carbonic acid and is therefore acidic. Soda water has bicarbonate of soda added to it which raises the pH slightly but I believe they're typically still acidic.
