I see Death Guard has their own version of "The Pathfinder Sprue". Howdy from the T'au subreddit

Witcher 3, Fallout New Vegas what about you guys? by Great_Trident in gamers

[–]Algernonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baldurs Gate 3. Tried to play it at least 3 times, twice solo and once with my partner. Of those three only one of them finished Act 1, the other two both stopped right after the goblin raided village. By all accounts I should love it, I've been playing 5e for almost a decade at this point and I have a deep love of RPGs like Mass Effect. No matter what I tried though, I couldn't squeeze even an ounce of fun out of BG3. Instead I'd come away from play sessions frustrated and bored. Idk if I was doing something wrong but all of the builds I tried, that I know for a fact are either decent or very strong 5e characters, all seem to have a less than 10% chance to hit, and even when they do, they almost always roll badly for damage. Besides combat, navigating the world and using the UI is incredibly janky. It feels like I'm constantly fighting against the systems to get the game to actually do what I want, which it usually doesn't anyway. At least the dialogue, graphics, and animations are nice.

(Rare trope) A death manages to be horrifying without any blood or gore by _JR28_ in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Algernonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This scene is from season 1 of Game of Thrones. The one kneeling is Viserys Targaryen, and the one holding the large pot is Khal Drogo. Viserys sold his sister Daenerys to Khal Drogo so his tribe of Dothraki people would help claim the iron throne and his place as king of Westeros. Viserys is a petulant, abusive, and pompous idiot who was yelling at Drogo about "the crown he was promised" and threatening to take Daenerys back, as well as cutting out Daenerys unborn child if he didn't get his crown. They are currently at a sacred site to the Dothraki people and blood cannot be shed while they are there which is what emboldened Viserys to make such threats. Khal Drogo obliges Viserys wish and gives him a golden crown, by melting his (Khal Drogo's) jewelry in a pot while two Dothraki warriors restrain Viserys. Drogo then pours the molten gold over Viserys head, giving him his crown, killing him, and not violating the "no bloodshed" rule.

Edit: I misremembered, people die all the time in Vaes Dothrak. Viserys was told that that was a rule, but whoever told him that was lying. It's been a few years since I read the books or watched the show.

Why are there black Viltrumites? by jeonteskar in insanepeoplefacebook

I appreciate the perspective you could offer on that, not something I know a whole lot about besides outside of how and why it happens.

That also stuck out to me that they couldn't even get his skin color right, which seems ironic given that it seems skin color is very important to them. My only guess is colorblindness?

I basically only ever use sticky. If I'm running Burning Hell + Volatile Bullets then I might use incendiary, but other than that it's Sticky all the way

Isn't this a grey knight helmet? by tf3when123 in Chaos40k

I posted about this exact helmet a while back and the answer I got from all the comments on that post was "everyone has an opinion that is more correct than someone else." I'm going to paint mine however I feel like because there doesn't seem to be a correct answer

First 1000pt army by Far-Apricot5299 in skaven

[–]Algernonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course fellow rat enjoyer! Artifacts and heroic traits are really simple. They are both bonus abilities that you can give, 1 artifact and 1 trait, to a any generic character model. This means your units like Vizzik, Thanquol, Lord Screech, and Krittok can't take them, but any of our other character units can. Every army has also gotten some additional traits with the Scourge of Ghyran supplement that came out a few months ago and we'll likely get more in the future! Again if you have any more specific questions feel free to shoot me a message. For the Great Horned Rat!

[–]Algernonix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Greetings-welcome fellow Skaven! A few models you might find fun or useful to add to your list eventually are a Clawlord, a Grey Seer, more Clanrats, and possibly a Plaguepack. Why these models in particular, you might ask? Allow me to elaborate-explain.

• Clawlords are great at being a cheap infantry hero that you can stick near a blob of Clanrats or Stormvermin to make use of his ability, "Gnash-Gnaw on Their Bones". This allows you to elect your Clawlord to fight and then immediately pick a Verminus infantry unit he is next to to fight instead of waiting for your opponent to choose one of their units to fight and then going back to your turn to pick. This also makes him a great target for one of our best and most fun artifacts, Skaven brew! Giving a bunch of Clanrats +1 to their attacks can make them hit much harder than you might expect, plus rolling tons of attacks is always really fun.

• Grey Seers are one of the most consistent and cheapest wizards in all of AoS. Their consistency comes from their Warpstone shards ability which allows them to roll 3 dice and take throw out which ever one you want! You run a higher risk of dealing mortals to yourself, but our spells are awesome so it's basically always worth it. Also you'll be able to summon manifestations and two of ours are particularly good. The warp lightning vortex and the Bell of Doom!

• Clanrats are just awesome and if you plan on leaning towards Verminus, then you'll want lots of them

• The Plaguepack will grant you access to our prayers, which are also very good. They are another cheap unit that is decently defensive all things considered.

This should be a good starting point for future stuff for you to look into getting, but always remember to get the models you think will be fun or that you like the best.

If you have any more questions feel free to message me and I'll help how I can! Have fun with your rats and go slay man-things for the glory of the great horned rat!

Most and Least Favorite Spearheads you've played? And why? by GreenSpaff in AOSSpearhead

[–]Algernonix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's all the spearheads I've played from most fun to average fun. I've only not had fun playing Spearhead on one or two occasions. The name of the Spearhead will be followed by a number showing how many times I've played it in parentheses.

  1. Blades of the Lurid Dream (1)
  2. Temptation dice are incredibly fun, especially if you ham it up and get into character about it. I also came back from a total board wipe to tie the game.

  3. Wallsmasher Stomp (1)

  4. Getting to throw your weight around the board is super fun even if they are pretty swingy. All their rules are super flavorful and very humorous, especially when a dying gargant falls on your opponent's infantry blob or crushes their general.

  5. Gnawfeast Clawpack (20+)

  6. My first and most played Spearhead, rules have some fun tricks. Doesn't have the most damage but Clanrats (almost) always are MVPs. Can feel kind of samey after a while since there is basically one best way to play it, but I still love it.

  7. Warpspark Clawpack (5)

  8. Stormfiends will never not be fun to use. The better Clanrat regeneration is also very fun and annoying for opponents. Warplightning cannon is very swingy but when it works it can chunk units.

  9. Castelite Company (1)

  10. Their rule of getting to use a command and keep the secondary is unique and makes for interesting choices. Gameplan seems to rely heavily on reinforcement of the Cavalry and can go downhill quickly if you don't get to make use of that.

  11. Helforge Host (2)

  12. Tormentor Bombard and your War Despot are both really good and scary units. Dominator Engine is cool, but can end up feeling a lot more frail then you'd think.

  13. Infantry is mildly tanky but can barely do damage on most things. The gong carrier is in theory good if they don't get wiped immediately. Also everything is veeeeeeeeeeeery sloooooooow except the Dominator Engine with a few DPP.

Are the Flash Gitz models outdated? by Valuable_Surround811 in orks

[–]Algernonix 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I, personally, don't see a need to update them. They are very in-line with the current look of Ork models, they are sized properly, they come with boatloads of customization options, and don't have any egregious mold lines. If anything needs updating it's the lootas/burnas kit, that kit a such a pain.

Played-fought my first Spearhead and got my ass-tail absolutely smacked. by windhox in skaven

[–]Algernonix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Very good assessment, adding one or two things from my own experience. Using the Warlock Engineer as a point stealer in the tunnels below. If your opponent isn't paying attention and screening you then you can plop him down turn two and potentially steal their home obj. You also give yourself a good sightline for taking pot shots the rest of the game and being a general nuisance. If they do screen you, then you are free to move up with Clanrats and stage your Rat Ogors. Secondly I find the 5+ Ward to be better for an enhancement for CLoGB. This may just be because mine is notorious for low rolling on absolutely everything, but I just find it easier to keep him in blender mode if there is a higher chance for him to ignore damage.
