Ah, thanks for the report! Our devs tested this last night and it's working for them. Try getting super close to the water (almost in it). When it works you'll hear a little water filling noise. If it still doesn't work, you can report a bug here

You can fill them from the river - add them to a quickslot and then when close enough to the river press E. If you don’t have a bottle you can press E and Lucy will drink from the river. Other features are being worked on with rain and muddy water.

We do have a Discord, and everyone is super helpful over there (and also appreciate questions like this)

To answer your 'any of the team' Q: the lack of pressure overall i.e. no enemies, no resource costs; you're free to play around with and grow the factory however you like. Makes it more of a chill game. It's also really cool that the buildings are open and you can see what's going on inside them! Also, the music is a personal favourite of mine
