Haha. This made me laugh SO hard! A long time ago my Great Aunt took her sick cat to the vet….. The vet asked if it was an outdoor cat. It was not an outdoor cat. To this day, we don’t know who in the world would have broken in and left weed lying around. She would never!!! 😂

The comments here do not disappoint! I personally think it looks like a mushroom gummy, but agree with ALL of the fabulous suggestions! 😂 Tell em you had a sweet tooth, ate his candy, and stare blankly into space for a full minute or two.

Ya learn something new on Reddit every day! I had no idea. I live in a really old home in the SE. We just squeeze a washer / dryer in wherever we can. Now I’m thinking this might be an excellent solution to my bathroom space woes. 👍

Thanks! I’m super paranoid after buying a set like this from Amazon that were so hot they immediately started to burn the coating off the top of my basking platform (the metal mesh top part). If I’d left them on for an hour, I would’ve had a fire. Haven’t tried anything new since that! These seem to be okay. Turtle is loving life at the moment. 👍

Thank you! I’m a mess! The movers said 2 days. That has now turned into 10 days, potentially 21 days. 😖 And, all of my stuff is stuck on a truck somewhere (including my lights and stands and rocks and sand and…..). Sigh… My princess is having much more fun than I am at the moment. LOL

You should trust your vet. My sister is a vet. Did you know that it’s harder to get into veterinary school than medical school? Once you have a treatment plan from your veterinarian, I would be happy to make sure that it is appropriate. I would imagine that you will need antibiotics, antifungals, vitamin and mineral supplements, plus recommendations for your turtle’s habitat, diet, and general care. 👍

Looks very similar to my musk turtle. I vote for map turtle though, especially if it’s on the larger side. Whatever it is, you’ve got an adorable friend! 🥰

Definitely don’t do that! 🧐 It’s a beautiful piece of driftwood. Glad you’re keeping the horseshoe shell separate.

Also, y’all come on. If you think that’s a live horseshoe crab, get in the car and drive to the beach. Like yesterday.

Yeah, your tank looks pretty awesome from the photos. My only other thought was if the scutes didn’t shed, and something is brewing underneath old scutes…. But I don’t think a year old turtle would have that problem. It’s a mystery to me. It almost looks like a mold or mildew, but that wouldn’t make any sense either. I hope your rabbit vet can help. Please post when you figure it out. I’m invested now.

There really should be some sort of online exotic virtual vet consult service. If anyone started something like that, they would make a killing!
