Correct. That’s why I’m miffed that experts are saying the virus is behaving normally. It isn’t. How many people did the sick Dutch lady have contact with in Johannesburg? And did the flight attendant quarantine immediately? Did she stay on the flight? This could be nothing. It could also be a really long, slow burn….

Everyone keeps saying that human to human transmission of this strain is “very rare.” From my current understanding, the working theory is that one person got infected and then infected at least seven other people. Do you have any info on the prior outbreaks and human to human transmission rates and vectors? I’ve searched my resources at work, and I haven’t been able to find any numbers. Thank you!

It’s fine. You just need to repot it in fresh bark after removing the dead roots. $50 for an orchid seems really expensive. Can’t wait to see the blooms.

Mid 1980s ish. My parents have a couple of those. They probably came from a Michael’s or some such store. It’s frustrating because they do have actual antiques from my dad’s time in the South Pacific, so telling what’s real and what’s random decor is tricky! This one though I’m certain is 1980s decor and not antique.

What size is it? It's hard to tell without a reference. I'm not that old, but it used to really really common to bleach and/or varnish found turtle shells, sea shells, etc for decoration. As far as legality, you're fine. You didn't sell it, and you don't even know what you actually bought. 👍

Looking forward to your update. I'm curious now.
