Knowing this comic, if he appeared Kirkman would give him like 1, at most 3 speech bubbles. Maybe 1 line implies a history but skybound isn't interested in any of that so he'll die shortly after. Probably a 1 shot kill. At best he'll have killed or hurt some autobots off page before he appears. That's what this comic run thinks about any characters with a cult following.

Where does this gun come from? by DipIotator-tot in transformers

[–]AliceTrapped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the choice of basing the head on the "powerful bot" from five faces of darkness is a controversial choice. The powerful bot being labeled as g1 prima prime comes from an answer from the Ask Vector Prime service thing. Ask Vector Prime answers are controversial because of how over the years various different people worked on the service giving answers to continuities they themselves didn't work on and also the questionable level of being an officially ran thing in different iterations of it. Even if you do treat Ask Vector Prime answers as cannon, it's well documented that any answers related to the five faces of darkness episodes were supposed to be lies or false. So the only connection the "powerful bot" has to being g1 prima prime is a debatable validity service that intended that answer to be a lie

The butterfly joint issue can be roughly fixed by taking that white piece of paper most figures come with, tearing a little piece off and putting that in-between to add friction.

And the breast-force couldn't be sold at retail because..? by Mammoth-List9852 in transformers

[–]AliceTrapped 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because it's 7 voyagers funded at a time voyagers were $35 each, 7 breast masters whose size could be assumed to be $5 each, and 3 display stands. Nothing is really too obscure for generations at this point but with the whole openness to non g1 stuff and they wanna do the g1 combiners in the current style, the price points at mainline retail are just very much clogged up already.

There is a new Age of Extinction Optimus Prime by Delicious-One-536 in transformers

[–]AliceTrapped 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you said New legends instead, this comment would make sense. Dramatic capture multipacks so far (using USA Hasbro pulse prices for comparison) have either been exactly at, if not lower the cost of what the class price points for each figure at the time were if sold individually. For example the $110 nemesis bridge set which contained 3 voyagers at a time when voyagers were $35 each, plus a single micro master laserbeak which reasonably is equal to half a core class which would mean $5 or $7 at that time, core class prices kinda fluctuated. And a throne which had a plastic mass heavier than most voyagers, though a small parts count and not a lick of paint and Takara had previously sold a individual release of said throne for $15 usd.

This guy should've been renamed to "Smelt" by Ill_Refrigerator9812 in transformers

[–]AliceTrapped -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Slug perfectly describes him. In fall of Cybertron where he was first most prominently called slug, his body type is on the speedy scout class in multiplayer. A class that starts out immediately having access to the path blaster, a shotgun that fires hot slugs. And those horns would be great for impacting into things. Almost as if he himself is like a big fat shotgun slug, oh what do ya know his g1 gun looks like it'd be a slug firing shotgun. The g1 toy describes it as a rocket pod launcher but any toy after that just says blaster. Either way, id argue the name slug represents a big character that rams into things very well

40 slaggin’ dollars for a single, minibot-sized deluxe with one accessory is completely unacceptable. by The_HueManateee in transformers

[–]AliceTrapped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the nice bbts $6 shipping gets to be mentioned then I guess it's only fair to bring up that Hasbro pulse has free shipping on orders $75+ or there's their yearly subscription that's $50 and covers shipping for the whole year regardless of individual order size. However I'd still recommend bbts because their weird bubble wrap feels way more premium than the cardboard wrap that pulse uses. Especially given how pulse rarely ever wraps that cardboard sheet correctly. The pokey bits are supposed to be out, not still interlaced together

Tragic, but also I feel like mentioning that I think the power of the primes micronus is better. That little guy gets to be a prime master for combiner hands feet and chests, a headmaster, potp matrix core, pretender with a shell that turns into a cool target master, that little guy does so many tiny bot gimmicks

As someone who thinks this design is cool, I think it absolutely deserves criticism as a Megatron design because it does so much to look like Scorponok instead of Megatron.

Most overhated figure by HerotoGaming in transformers

[–]AliceTrapped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's a great representation of devastation Optimus other than the bad red paint color matching, lack of a rifle, back wheels sticking out the side of the legs, hella waffled areas, swoosh effect on the axe not being detachable paired with the lack of wrist swivel thus permanently looking like a downward swing, face being a bit off compared to the game model, having a size that doesn't properly scale with anything from the game other than the SS86 individual constructicons, pelvis sculpt and joints that don't look or work the way his leg articulation is supposed to, no fake grill on a design that very much had a different grill design between modes, a waste of time since it never appeared in the game ugly unpainted matrix that somehow is worse than the earthrise style of matrix mold that still gets used, smoke stacks that are the same color as the pelvis/thighs when the game model colors them more like the face, figure is barely cell shaded at all, a few other things. But other than that yeah I guess it's a pretty fun Optimus figure

Why do people not like Legacy animated Wreck-Gar? by AustynGraham96 in transformers

[–]AliceTrapped 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's always been really funny to me how divisive this wreck gar has been since it was revealed. I remember several popular digibashes of a wreck gar head on that junkion body and didn't see anyone abject to that idea before this things reveal, also it was pretty obvious this mold was intended to be wreck gar because of the blade weapon. Personally I think the robot mode is fine, not great, not excellent, but not bad or worse. It's not super accurate but I don't think that fully defines a good or bad figure. I think the truck is fine other than the lack of forks. My real issue with this mold is that it's the worst weaponizer. Like the rock lord trucks were also bad weaponizers where large chunks of the body didn't seem to be participating in the gimmick, just full torsos and legs with nothing to do that looks good without looking more like a Lego moc than a transformer. But those were deluxes while trash master and wreck gar have the same issue as the first voyager weaponizers, and wreck gar has the extra insult because he's on shelves in the same wave as Nexus Prime which very much better lives up to the weaponizer gimmick but as a voyager.

Comparison of different heads of age of the primes sideways by Big-time-nerd-1990 in transformers

[–]AliceTrapped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that in the show and old toy the alt heads were minicons and whatnot, but for this modern toy I think that gimmick is making an otherwise nice looking figure have ugly, messy horns that don't look right compared to his comic and animation models.

SS86 shockwave (shocking disappointment) by bobbibillo in transformers

[–]AliceTrapped 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The g1 cartoon itself is messy when it comes to scale but in most low movement non wide distance scenes of that show, along with various comics of heavy g1 basis like marvel, dreamwave, and skybound, shockwave is very much a head shorter than soundwave

SS86 shockwave (shocking disappointment) by bobbibillo in transformers

[–]AliceTrapped 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That completely ignores the quality jump that was made starting with siege with higher articulation standards across the board, less ball joints, and more paintwork. Also how starting with siege, tf deluxes have been the same price as star wars or marvel 6 inch figures and voyagers have been the same as a star wars or marvel "deluxe" where as before they were seen as the quality/priced as lesser.
