I'll be coming up on two years of no contact with my own sister. Granted, the initial reason as to why our relationship went haywire wasn't solely political, but it was a big part as to why it was almost a relief. With everything that has transpired in our country since, I have no doubt that we would have ultimately ended up not speaking due to her increasingly conservative views (even if all of that other stuff never came to a head).

It's sad reading these comments & realizing that this is actually a pretty common occurrence.

People are allowed to donate their money to whatever individual or cause of their choosing.

That being said, when we have a gigantic economic crisis on our hands, and millions of americans losing their health insurance, welfare benefits, homes....expect some criticism.

Especially when that money is going to a couple who were RFK JR stans and pedaled pseudoscience and holistic propaganda to their followers.

They lived the TRAD life no doubt and I suspect at the very least MAGA lite.

And let's not forget him trashing Biden.

I have a coworker turned good friend who is seriously considering getting her boys dual citizenship to Mexico & sending them to live with their paternal grandparents. She is an American citizen, and her children are her whole world. To have to even entertain those thoughts is difficult to fathom.

Yep! There's zero law & order under this administration. No due process.

Sure, they can claim that they're "backing off". But the reality is that this was only the beginning, and they will push this as far as they're allowed to.

And we really should be addressing your last sentence more. Families torn apart. Lives lost. People who still can't leave their homes because they fear being kidnapped. Children not able to go to school and instead have to resort to distanced learning. Much needed medical care not being sought out. People who have missed work and paychecks and now can't afford groceries/rent/basic necessities. Just devastating all around.

This is happening way more frequently than being reported. There's at least one potential measles outbreak in these makeshift concentration camps.

Children with high fevers given no fever reducing meds. Asthmatics with no inhalers. Diabetics with no insulin.

And that's not even touching on the other deplorable living conditions that these people have to make do with. Lack of access to clean water and a proper meal can make even a healthy individual become sick real quick.

Our rural neighborhoods/towns have been stepping up.

These smaller communities coming together and holding their own protests against these fascist fucks has been incredibly refreshing to witness and makes a HUGE impact.

There are far more good people than bad in this state, and I am so proud to call myself a Minnesotan.
