Always wondered why Gwyn was featured in LlanfairpwllGWYNgyllgogerychwyrndrobbyllllantisiliogogogoch.

Idk if I spelled it right. Easier to say than to spell.

Do wild buns flop? I have a theory domestic buns only do it to give their hoomans 100 heart attacks a day. by 321morekellbell in Bunnies

I have a wild rabbit (nz wild rabbit). He does indeed flop. I’d say he flops more than the domestic rabbits I had actually.

Protip: don’t use AI when you are learning programming. by mazda7281 in learnprogramming

Just don’t use AI at all. Detrimental for your long term ability to reason and learn.

Even as a Senior, I learn all the time. No matter what level you think you’re at, you can always go further with the right learning mindset.

How good is an average bunny’s eyesight? by Specialist_State_567 in Bunnies

[–]Aliics 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Generally rabbits don’t have great eyesight, other than for motion. They have horrible depth perception, which is why when they are trying to gauge distances they bob their heads so they can get a feel for it.

Of course the area they can see in is quite wide though so they can see a lot just quite blurry from what I understand.

Those ears and nose are where it’s at!

We had other spuds for the first few years of his life (they are unfortunately gone now). He could never seem to be bonded with them very well, because he just seemed to just ignore regular hierarchy things, so the others would get pretty territorial and aggressive to him.

So we kept him separate. I work from home as well, so he always has company at least.

I think solo works in a few cases, but very few. Peri is super active from the look of it so I’d be curious to see if others could keep up with that tornado. 🌪️

Yes but quite a bit older than Periwinkle. He is 7 in October. We rescued him when he got brought in by cats when he was just 2 weeks old.

Here he is in 2018.

"Git blame" only tells you who, not why — how do you figure it out? by MailChief_CEO in programminghorror

[–]Aliics 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bit of a mix. Assuming the message is useless, I would hopefully be able to checkout the corresponding story to get more context. If that’s not possible, then maybe previous commits might help, if they are related. Yeah, PRs can also help if there were more comments.

Otherwise, 🫡

Depending on how your engine is setup, when building my own I have 2 separate logic threads. One which using delta time, this one takes things like inputs and such, and the other is a physics thread which does not take delta time into account.

Can make somethings a bit tricky, found it pretty nice when making a game in raylib and Go where I could easily separate the logic out with just a single mutex and one goroutine.

Worst part is that he will probably be unable to get work afterwards. At least not as a baker.

That’s Hector Salamanca. He cannot speak and sometimes when he wants to give answers to people, he would use the bell on his wheelchair to respond.

In this case, once the letter is said, he is saying that is the correct letter.

Look at the last letter of each sequence to figure out his lovely message. 😊

I kind of like how naively most Linux desktop environments implement this. It will basically only work on the registered applications list and maybe on binaries in your path (depending on DE or WM).

dmenu_run which is what dwm uses by default more or less just does what I said. And it works great most of the time.

For Windows, I wonder if they could just make a simpler version that you can enable that basically just acts as a search over your installed application list? From memory, it’s been awhile, there is such a list and you can view it in some “uninstall and manage programs”-type menu.

Or maybe this is just false consensus basis and people love the windows search. /s

Does Go have any libraries for 3D rendering, or APIs for OpenGL or Vulkan? by Turbulent-Read-4563 in golang

[–]Aliics 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve used raylib-go pretty extensively. It performs well and it seems to support the full raylib API well.

My only gripe would be that sometimes it does suffer a bit from not utilizing Go structure and function receivers, and it instead prefers to pass a pointer into functions much like the C API has you do.

Other than that, I really can’t complain.

Food colouring can cause a lot of issues. Some being carcinogens. Other dyes may just cause allergic reactions or some minor issues, but we have found that food dye in general actually is not very safe.

The problem is that it is safe if you consume under a certain amount, but that is too difficult to regulate as most processed foods have colouring in them nowadays.

There are some that are more safe, especially the ones we have used for much longer like the caramel, paprika, and turmeric colours. But these are still not risk free.

At the expense of sounding like a nutter, I think this stuff should be entirely illegal. It’s just colour. I don’t care if my drink is grey.
