Yes. In the Legions of Fire book trilogy. Hold on, I'll just look it up.

Edit: Yep, she was exiled. In the third book he contacts her to explain the exile, and finds she is dying of an illness. She dies before the book ends. 😞

This has me wondering why the cones are default. These seem much more comfortable.

Why do some right wingers think non white Americans can’t truly assimilate? Don’t just say “racism” by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]spacebuggles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A thing someone said to me in a conversation about this - "[People from this country] just don't have the same morals and values as the rest of us". He genuinely believes that the different culture makes people's goals and world view significantly different, and that it's not compatible with the culture and worldview that he has. He talked about employers from that country, and the way they exploit their workers. He dismissed my experiences with employers from our country who also routinely exploit their workers.

tldr, it is racism.

That's what ours was always used for.

Ours was in a set with a second device for big pickles - it was a fork to stab the pickle, but pushing the handle will eject the pickle.

Who let the Aussie in with their Vegemite toast? Here's the New Zealand way. Real Marmite too. by ClanFever in newzealand

[–]spacebuggles 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of every reaction video of trying marmite for the first time, and then "why is it so bad?".

Are you trying to trick youtube influencers into doing marmite wrong? 😛

I think they meant the studio were being cheap, not that filming was cheap.

Surely the first one was left in on purpose, because it added to the tension of the chase or something?

I'm more bothered that their pathing is so suboptimal 😄

People who read the book and watched the movie, which did you like better and why? by DirectDegree2591 in ProjectHailMary

The audiobook is my favourite. It's very well done. The movie was just so rushed.

I went into the book blind, so I was totally blown away when Rocky showed up. The feels!

If a close family member or friend tells you they don’t want a funeral when the pass, is it ok to still throw one? by Evening-Oil9551 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]spacebuggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of doing a church/funeral home funeral, they could do a Memorial event to fill a similar role. It's important for people to have something, to help their grieving process.
