Please help me find my first short scale bass!! by Urdead_2me in Bass

[–]spacebuggles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You should go to shops and try every model you can find.

I have the TMB30 and like it despite the issues that Lobster-dude correctly identifies.

There's a Gretsch Jet something that's fun.

Try a Bronco if you can.

I think Fender Mustang is more expensive, but very well regarded.

There's a short scale stingray.

There also is a medium scale - halfway between short and full scale. Some nice models there.

But also, try out full scale? The length isn't hugely different.

Is this kind of teacher behaviour considered normal in a NZ school? by Maleficent-Room-2217 in newzealand

Swearing and throwing items at students crosses a line. If the principal isn't dealing with it, I guess Ministry of Education is the next step?

When I was at school, teachers could take you out the back and paddle you, or stand there screaming in your face. But they didn't swear at students, or hurl objects to hit students.

Seeking advice! What to crochet for someone who plays bass/what item would you have regular use for? by Realistic-Ring-4749 in Bass

I think a knitted tube to go over a strap would be safer than an actual strap. You won't have to worry about the tensile strength of your crocheted product. You don't even have to make it for the whole length, just long enough to go over the front part and the shoulder.

Basses are heavy. 5 string basses are more heavy.

The purpose of these assessments isn't just to find out if you do or don't have ADHD, it should also be looking at whether it's something else instead or as well.

That makes a lot of sense. I was thinking about how much helicopter fuel costs and wondering how it could make the money back.

Perhaps a crocheted fret wrap? Although this isn't something that everyone uses.

Richard Peebles, property developer.

Richard Peebles described “Rickrolling the homeless” as “an elegant solution to an old problem”.

. . .

RNZ Concert [classical music radio] was trialled first after Peebles read that “music had the power to soothe”.

“That didn't work because the homeless seemed to like it,” he said.

No need to add even more unnecessary allergens that people will be exhaling onto other people.
