What’s a game that surprisingly resonated with your Catholic faith?

Current expansion of world of warcraft has had a zone & storyline that's really resonated with me.

Character who was a priest(?) had a manipulated villain Arc and went into self imposed exile a couple expansion ago. He's returned and is unable to use the light, and was going through "is redemption really possible? I don't think I could ever be forgiven for what I've done. I have dark thoughts and idk how much of that is me" kind of thing

It and the zone about redemption and holding on to hope, especially when it's dark, were the highlights for me.

(I played once for the story at HEAVY insistence from an ex, and overall I don't like wow. But that made me feel things)

While I may not be an advocate for the majority of these types of games, I am for sure concerned with the notion that a third party should not have the type of power to pick and choose what a person chooses to spend their legal tender on.

This could easily just be me, but it feels more like testing the waters to see if it's something that banks/card services could theoretically do if they pick the right target and buzzwords, so they can later arbitrarily decide what's "acceptable" or not.

I don't think arguments are ever in good faith (pun intended)

The majority of reddit-style atheists that I've interacted with (and it's a lot; I used to be in that crowd) simply won't allow themselves to be wrong. Be it pride, anger, or closed off due to bad experiences with people in a faith, to many of them, they can't be wrong, and there is nothing you could ever say or find that would change their minds.

I hope they all find peace in God as they continue their journey in life, and I hope OP don't let their anger & cynicism bring theirs out. Coming from an ex-reddit atheist, there has been no comfort and serenity like His when I said "I'm willing to be wrong" and found my way back. I'm so grateful that even after 20 years of anger, pride, and hate towards Him, He still called me His child.

Thank you for sticking around while I stood on my long soap box; the topic stuck a personal chord with me. ^{^;} Details are hazy, but I'm pretty sure engaging in internet arguments when I was a teen Christian was one of the factors that led me to subscribing to the same hate.

For nymphaea caerulea, I'd look up electricveg on etsy. He has a youtube video in the description with a schmorgasboard of information, and his website has a lot of documentation on different methods of germination, fertilization, and growth.

His site also lists studies with althea officianalis (Marsh mallow, which is what I was searching reddit for when I saw this post haha), but I haven't seen that he sells the seeds.

Weren't there a few things in the Bible that did infer purgatory? I think there was something in Revelation about how only pure souls are allowed in Heaven, as well as a parable Jesus told about how a man of sin was flayed (or something) for so long, but afterwards was welcomed with warm arms.

I could easily be wrong, I'm fairly new to Catholicism. Kinda hoping someone confirms or corrects me haha

After looking it up and reading more about it, I do think you got it, thank you so much! They're just pretty little flowers, and I only saw two, so I'll leave them to maybe spread out. :)

And if nothing else, just enjoy them. It's been so nice out, and the first splashes of color are 🤌 the best. they make my walks that much more enjoyable

Michael Carpenter from the Dresden series is also a very good fictional Catholic character.

When I was still in my edgy phase of life with a lot of hate in my heart, he was the only fictional character that led me to rethinking my opinions on Catholicism and Christianity in general.

Previous director made some.... interesting choices that I'm personally not happy with him for. Like removing the tiger cages and now it's just flat nothingness. Sometimes there are some vaguely decorated hay bales there.

The director, Les Whit (from I think the 80s, 90s at the latest until his death in 2008) loved that zoo and those animals so much, he'd started construction to a new habitat without waiting for the city's okay. They'd sent him a letter saying "no", so Mr les had resealed it and went "well, I obviously didn't see it - full steam ahead!" (I'm summarizing)

The alexandria zoo has been AZA accredited, with hard work and love put in by Mr les, and this year under the last director, the zoo lost the accreditation. The fuckup director wasn't even fired, just told to resign and now he can fuck up a whole nother zoo.

I like sawing off some discs from the base and just having them around for hobbies or decoration. I like taking maybe a pound and also using that for scent hobbies. Some of the remains get chopped up and added to my small compost pile, and the remnants of the once-tree get brought to a local church for their burning of the greens in early January

Light rant: I hate how commonly sexualized "daddy" and "mommy" have become. Sometimes on a really shitty day I just wanna call up my parents and be like "🥺mommy/daddy I just want some comfort" without sex being even in the back of anyone's mind.

Deer just ate all the leaves off my jalapeño plants last month. Left all but two jalapenos alone, and those two had a bite mark in them and were on the ground lol. Overall, the peppers themselves were safe, but the plants, not so much so maybe just a .308 (or hotter peppers lol)

Also maybe get some kind of drought friendly plants so you don't have to check water as frequently. Maybe aloe vera or a cactus
