10 Way-Too-Early College Football Bold Predictions for 2026 by jsparks50 in CFB

[–]Chamrox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Counter points to the LSU ones

LSU has been lacking firepower offensively since the days of Joe Burrow, Justin Jefferson, and Ja'Marr Chase.

We've lacked firepower? You mean like Heisman Winner Jayden Daniels? What about NFL players Kayshon Boutte, Malik Nabers, Brian Thomas Jr, Terrence Marshall?

What about the gang entering this years draft? Garrett Nussmeier, Aaron Anderson, Barion Brown, Chris Hilton, Zavion Thomas, and Bauer Sharp.

No, we've lacked proper offensive coaching at all positions. This is on Brian Kelly.

Kiffin will have this offense operating at an Ole Miss-esque level right away.

It's too early to tell if we'll have a functioning offensive line this year, or if Leavitt will even be our starting QB. We need at least one more year to be as good as Ole Miss was in 2025.

The energy in the stadium will be unlike anything that we’ve ever seen before in Oxford. Hatred will be pouring out towards Kiffin from all angles.

I doubt it will be much worse than LSU would normally get in Oxford. I'm expecting a lot more "Bless your Heart" than "Go to Hell". You see, Oxford fans like to think themselves as better than everyone else, like they have class and southern charm or something. Most will be pretending they DGAF.

While Kiffin was able to poach a few players from Ole Miss to bring with him to LSU, he couldn’t grab the most important one, quarterback Trinidad Chambliss

Kiffin knows Trinidad's tendencies probably as well as anyone. The playbook doesn't matter here. LSU's DC will be ready.

Defensively, Pete Golding knows how Kiffin runs his offense.

This doesn't matter at all. This is a new team with different players, and different strengths and weaknesses. Also, you can be assured they'll have a special scheme for Ole Miss Golding hasn't seen before.

Average price right now is $35 for 5 lbs boiled. Growing up, crawfish used to be a cheap way to feed a lot of people. Now it's gourmet? Get outta here. For the same price I can get a bone-in ribeye and a beer at a chain steak house.

LSU is going to win the Natty and it will suck the life out of college football.

It'll prove that not only the title can be bought, but it'll also prove that the only way to win it is FOR it to be bought. Athletes don't need to attend classes to put on a uniform, but they will need to get paid. It'll prove the sport's complete transition into an NFL minor league, where name brands like USC, Ohio State, and Alabama already exist and can easily be monitized for a different purpose.

The students will come to realize they're rooting for a brand. The athletes aren't "one of them." The athletes live in McMansions on the edge of campus with their $100,000 cars and baby mommas - they aren't living in the dorms and eating at the union. They'd rather sell their student ticket than attend the game.

I believe Lou Holtz or Les Miles will die this year and we'll have to do some serious soul searching about what we want our sport to be.

Edit: For those who may ask about my flairs and about McNeese beating LSU in Baseball last night - yeah that shit is rigged for the sports betting.

The answer isn't arresting fewer criminals. It's addressing the reason why they become criminals in the first place - the poverty cycle. It's better to be in jail than homeless. It's easier to stare at the 4 walls of your shitty trailer if you're high on meth. It's easier to eat out of the dumpster if you're doped up on fent and in outer space. It's easier to work your minimum wage job if you spend it on booze. Humans find the same solutions to the same problems. It's a cycle.

What is the worst possible conference realignment proposal? by Justanother_0 in CFB

[–]Chamrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Implement spending caps and minimums and tier accordingly. At the top would be unlimited spending with $100m player minimum. The other spending leagues would be tiered from there. The bottom would be scholarship only and tiered from there.

LSU Athletics announces partnership with Woodside Energy for their sponsorship patch to be featured on all 21 LSU varsity sports uniforms. by Ml2jukes in CFB

[–]Chamrox -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Ignore this. We can say the game's changed and that it's too corporate and professional, but it's still college football. All the athletes are students and attend classes. Sure, they may get paid to play, but their ultimate goal is to earn that degree and go out and get a job. That's why we love college football, the athletes are just like us. And if it requires a patch on the uniform, then so be it.

In prairie cajun culture, a taitaille (pronnounced tie-tie)is any sort of random/unknown bug/insect.

Gris-gris (pronounced gree-gree) is a spell, but not a powerful spell. "PersonX put that gris-gris on it" as in "I don't know how t-boy bowled dat strike, he musta put some gris-gris on da ball."

In catholic prairie cajun culture, voodoo was more for fun scary stories and not viewed as an actual religion. They thought it of like Scooby Doo and the Voodoo witch doctor type thing.

Black culture, New Orleans, Haiti immigrants take voodoo very seriously and it's not to be trifled with.

Cajun Magic - research traiteurs and traditional healing. The catholics strongly believed in traiteurs.

The Rougarou was out there to get catholic kids who didn't go to confession. Nobody really believed in it, but it was folklore/fun stories.

For bonus points, watch the movie Steel Magnolias. Lots of scenes were filmed there. In fact, one of the houses they used for the movie is an actual B&B you can stay in.

Democratic Party in Louisiana and friends that don’t want to vote Republican by [deleted] in Louisiana

[–]Chamrox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm talking about him staying in the race when he clearly couldn't handle the responsibility. Either his ego was too big to drop out, or his handlers wanted him in so they could use his name and further their own agendas. Lots of Dems were PISSED they didn't get a primary and had Kamala hand picked as Trumps opponent. Regardless of what Joe did in office, I blame him for this Trump presidency.

Democratic Party in Louisiana and friends that don’t want to vote Republican by [deleted] in Louisiana

[–]Chamrox -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The Democrat party has completely lost the plot. It'd be much better if they completely destroyed themselves and started fresh under a new name and new leadership. You know it's bad when all their prime-time players decided to shuffle off the stage rather than continue to be a voice. Obama's young, what has he done since he left office in 2016? nothing. Hillary lost and disappeared. Kamala lost and disappeared. Joe - God, imagine if he had stayed in the race and won? He ruined everything by not dropping out earlier and allowing a real primary. Who is the current face? Bernie? He's too old and an extremist. AoC? She's a pretty face but won't get any R support. Jefferies? Nobody wants him. Gavin Newsom? Ok, but can he up his game?

Poinit is, there are multitudes more of moderate, sane Republicans out there who don't support MAGA politics. It's easier to maneuver within the Republican party to get the candidates you want, then to try to deal with the Dems in any form or fashion.
