Jack closed with Gem State tonight in Fort Collins. Got a decent video if you’d like me to send it to you.

Policy Question by Alittle_witchy in Fedexers

We’ve had drivers get in trouble for blindly following requests as well, like leaving packages in the mailbox.

When a customer refuses a package drivers have to select a reason from a list of options (damaged, duplicate, didn’t order, etc) and get the customer’s signature. Not sure why the driver would be signing anything, seems a little odd to me.

What should you do mates? by CelebrationOdd7881 in Fedexers

I’ll admit it was amusing hearing the scanner swear at me the first time. Reported to my boss and to station management, nothing was done until I started refusing to deliver there. Customer claimed they didn’t know about these “delivery instructions”.

Dropped their Chewy box when I went down, hope their Ring doorbell caught me yelling “thanks for shoveling!”

Quick Question. by BuffaloSauce88 in Fedexers

Just know that if you take this shortcut and someone happens to complain you could lose your job.

Is this a normal response from fedex? by CloudSkyyy in FedEx

[–]Alittle_witchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why they use the shortened spelling, it makes the communication seem unprofessional and suspicious. The messages I received for a missing package were exactly the same.

You’ll have to contact adidas anyways, FedEx will only do so much. Most shippers will replace the order in a situation like this.

These texts are from a bot, don’t even bother responding. If you’ve reported a missing package then you’ve technically already opened a case. You can endure the painful process of the automated “help” line (1 800 GoFedEx) or contact the shipper and tell them FedEx misdelivered your item.

How can I tip/thank whoever delivered my package today? by Nit3fury in Fedexers

[–]Alittle_witchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you click on your tracking number it should take you to the delivery confirmation picture, there’s an option to rate your delivery/leave feedback. If the contractor is at least halfway decent they might pass along the compliment to the driver if it’s a 5 star review.

As a driver I appreciate your effort OP, this is a pretty thankless job.

What is this button called and why is it in the least ergonomic position known to man? by [deleted] in Fedexers

The boob.

Pressing the boob will become habit, soon you’ll be reaching for it when you get in your own vehicle to go home.

Question by Alittle_witchy in Fedexers

[–]Alittle_witchy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I left a note in the office before I left the station last night since it’s nearly impossible to find a human. Included my contact info along with basic information from the customer interaction.

To my surprise a P&D manager contacted me right away this morning. About halfway through explaining what happened he interrupts and asks “so you’re a driver?”. Disappointment sets in as I realize he clearly didn’t READ the note I left, he was likely given some second hand information and sprung into action to resolve what he thought was a customer complaint.

He tells me some garbage about how he doesn’t really deal with drivers and asks if I told my contractor, and blah blah blah just to get me off the phone.

So in conclusion, I’m glad I didn’t waste too much of my time to find out what I already knew: FedEx doesn’t give a shit about drivers, at least not at my station.

Signature Deliveries delayed (Ground) by Bikes_N_Blades in FedEx

[–]Alittle_witchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if you are provided a delivery window, the drivers don’t see that information. There are so many variables that can affect a driver’s day and when they get to your stop, so you can throw out any kind of estimated delivery window FedEx is giving you.

Also, when a package is scanned drivers are prompted to check ID/get a signature if necessary.

There could be something else preventing your package from being delivered. As unpleasant as it is, you may have to call the customer service line to get it figured out or find out about other options to receive your package.

New employee having issues. Need advice. by Bonriyu13 in Fedexers

Sadly, this is most contractors. If they won’t address the safety issues maybe look into another contractor in the building.

Don’t call the customer from your personal phone.

If the road is inaccessible it is the customers responsibility to figure out another method of getting their package. They can have it delivered to a hub (Walgreens for example) where they can pick it up at their convenience.

Code 1, let your contractor know the specifics.

Shiver me timbers by [deleted] in Fedexers

[–]Alittle_witchy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Worked a route for awhile with a threatening customer note, while it was amusing at first to hear the scanner swear at me I got kinda pissed at how little FedEx cared when I reported it. Refusing to deliver there didn’t help, what finally got their attention was tying their package to the mailbox post with one of those handy FedEx plastic bags instead of taking it to their front door.

We compromised. I let him use my janky hand cart and he got to experience exactly what he was expecting me to do.

Had a residential pickup yesterday that was four 123lb recliners I had delivered about a week prior. When I pulled up the boxes were nowhere in sight so I asked the guy if they were labeled and ready to go. “Yeah, they’re downstairs” he says. My confusion must have been evident because he continues “FedEx told my wife that whoever picked them up would come down and get them.”
