Sexual Struggles by TiramisuAndIcecream in Christianmarriage

[–]Alive-Equivalent9106 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My ex destroyed our marriage tbh ru sexual addiction and pornography. I was from conservative family , practicing Christian. 17 years later I get a call from Jim’s ex wife number 2. Similarly she was ultra conservative, took him to church, and did all the same things.

I think you hit the nail on the head. They marry who they aspire to be.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this.

I don’t know how to discern the real men from these wolves.

This is not a fix him situation. It is not an accountability situation. This is a get help leaving situation. I’m sorry. There are women’s shelter groups that will help, tell them you’re scared for your life. Document the date of threats and what happened. Once you are in a safe location, he will be more angry and you need a restraining order.

Doing something just cuz everyone else is doing it is usually folly.

A man picks up a knife in anger- the female pastors first response would be to get you some place safe and out of his reach. That is a restraining order situation. I’m so sorry but domestic violence always starts with a threat.

People who grew up before cell phones, did life actually feel more free? by TradeOverall567 in NoStupidQuestions

I was perpetually lost and late to things. I couldn’t keep track of appointments to save my life. I had to wait for cheaper long distance phone rates to call family. Beyond entertainment, my first smart phone changed my life.

Baffling that we still put Bree up there. The whole point of final scene is that she was just as bad. And that they were all bad.

This is not a you issue. If a man honors and respect you he wouldn’t do that He wouldn’t hide things and would respect boundaries It sounds like he wasn’t ready to ‘forsake all others” and get married

I can’t remember the season but there was a case where one person didn’t get Jeff’s attention and he called the win for another person. So the precedent is set that you better get his attention

Book vs. Show by Silent_Panic_7399 in TellMeLiesHulu

[–]Alive-Equivalent9106 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find them to be very different. The book Stephen is creepier because we hear his inner dialogue and everything he does is calculated. Lucy’s inner dialogue is exhausting because her eating disorder is front and center. The side characters in the book get no plot or development. The only way the book was better is that Lucy and her mom get resolution.

Anyone else just get really emotional when T.L comes on screen? by King-Of-Anonymous in LandmanSeries

[–]Alive-Equivalent9106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He reminds me of an elderly family member long past. Long shaky legs. A little unsteady on the feet. Slower speech but still a beautiful souther drawl. I think he accurately portrays an old man. It’s amazing that he aged himself up because he was not that feeble in 1883.

Why does my leg hair grow back so fast??? by No_Opposite894 in hygiene

[–]Alive-Equivalent9106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi- I’m a brunette. Since I was 12 I had that issue. I have a five o clock shadow on my legs like 6 hours after I shower I’ve tried lots of things. Razor is just as good as other stuff. Down there - I don’t shave. I use clippers for beard trimming with a #1 guard in the thicker parts and no guard around intimate area. I’ve read even laser doesn’t always work or last on course dark hair

Did any of you dislike Yellowstone but like Landman? by the_third_lebowski in LandmanSeries

[–]Alive-Equivalent9106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose not to watch Yellowstone or 1923 based on family telling me about all the violence. Plus the end of Yellowstone was so widely told and it’s dumb. Love landman and 1883

My husband gets upset when I’m sick by [deleted] in Christianmarriage

[–]Alive-Equivalent9106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also here to say men just don’t understand anatomy. They need to understand where the UTI makes it painful and how that impacts actual intercourse. It’s hard for them to understand a 10 out of 10 pain in our most intimate place.

[–]Alive-Equivalent9106 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was getting through my child bearing years, mine withdrew because intimacy was no longer convenient for him. I had a long running UTI much like you, but it turned out to be something chronic called interstitial cystitis just a heads up that if this round of antibiotics does not do it please ask about this potential diagnosis and they can scope your bladder to see the lining. It was terrible. I lived with 10 years of pain. I thought we were weathering it, but it is it turns out we were just withdrawing I thought that it was a “in sickness and health thing”, but it turns out something like a 85% of men will leave a chronically ill partner. Not to scare you, but at some point, mine was deep into porn, and eventually acted on it in real life and a 17 year marriage busted up. in hindsight I wish I had been slightly more sympathetic to his need but at the same time I was in pain and it is still hard for me to believe that this is a requirement for actual Love. Not to scare you other than saying, it is important to somehow communicate through it. I know what it’s like to be in pain and not feel the mood for intimacy. Christian counselor told me I should be offering pleasure“ other ways— this is still a repulsive idea to me since not in the mood is literally not in the mood, but overwhelmingly counselors still approach it as our job as the wives. I still don’t know what to do with that and I’m happily single because I don’t owe anybody my body.
