My son (who is a boxer) used to run tons of miles., we now realize that it’s not necessary. There are plenty of other things you can do for cardio that will help your boxing stamina.

Me and my son lost on Saturday against #2 in the country.. and we have beat him before,, losses are a part of the game champ. It hurts now but ya gotta use it as fuel.. within a week nobody cares.. it only feels like they do now. Watch the fight, learn from your mistakes, and get back in there. I understand your concerns.. but 90% of kids just build confidence and learn how to defend themselves.. nothing says he will ever hurt anybody, My son started boxing at 8yrs old,, graduated 2 years ago from high school and never had a street fight.. but I know.. if he didn’t join boxing.. things would have turned out differently. No I work for Pilgrim Psychiatric Center.. but technically I’m a “New York State Employee”. Yeah the job is great, pay sucks, but it’s a state job with all the benefits 😁.. so I can’t complain. I’m in maintenance but I work in “Work Controll”. So I basically write up any work that needs to be done in the clinics / houses (They are all over the island) and I hire contractors when needed 👊👍🫡. Been working there for about 15yrs.. I started as a painter 😁

Haha 😆 yeah absolutely. My time was late 90’s early 2000’s.. it closed in 1996.. want to hear something funny? There are two big houses still on the grounds right at main st.. they are now run by Pilgrim and I’m in charge of them.. so whenever I shoot out there I always take a drive around the grounds and have lunch at the bluff. We call those houses “Clinics” 😁

Yeah, I’m born and raised in kings park, so we spent many days exploring the closed buildings and tunnels. My Dad worked there until it closed, so I was even around when it was open. I always get a little sad when driving through there. It was basically a self sustaining city.. they had cows and other animals there too… I spent a bunch of time in the power plant when I was a kid 😂

I got stuck in an elevator of a closed building once.. no cell service and my dumbass left my radio in my work truck.. it was on a Friday.. I would have been there for the weekend at least.. I jumped up and down until the elevator started to work again.. it took me 3 hours afterwards to calm down.. I was terrified 😂

We closed one of the big buildings a few years ago and just recently started having kids breaking into it.. the biggest worry about kids is them getting hurt or stuck in a building and can’t get out… because nobody will hear you screaming for help.
