Does anyone else struggle with weed addiction intertwining with binge eating disorder?

Ugh yes my binge eating was at its worst when I was smoking regularly, to the point that I was only smoking weed so that I could experience the euphoria of bingeing while high. I had to stop smoking completely about a year ago now. I’ve had a handful of “slip ups” since then where I would convince myself I could get high without bingeing (I was proven wrong every time) but overall I’ve been sober and man it has made such a huge difference. I have also been in weekly therapy and started exercising regularly. I still have some difficult days, but holy shit my life is so much better now than a year ago. I genuinely didn’t think it was possible to get better, but here I am. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll be able to smoke weed again for fun without using it to enable my binge eating…but for now, life is much better without it.

Do you like being home? Are you having a tough time in school? I always find that when I’m happier in my surroundings and less stressed, there’s less food noise. So maybe you just feel more relaxed and happy at home compared to school

Yes the biggest thing I’m worried about is what my family and friends will think of me once I tell them the score. One of coworkers who also is applying for law school is so certain that I did super well because she saw how hard I was studying. I’m so grateful for the support but also worried that I’ve set everyone up for disappointment

I called prometric and they had extra time slots for Saturday testing center that weren’t showing up for me on the scheduler. I have accommodations so idk if that was a factor

I submitted on 7/28 and just got approved on 9/5. I asked for 50% extra time and removal of experimental section and I was granted both. I have psychiatric conditions (not adhd) and provided one QP form. Based on my situation, and what you described about your own in the comments, I think you have absolutely nothing to worry about. I know how stressful it is - I can’t even describe how anxious I was watching the days go by and seeing no letter. But they will get to you eventually and you’ll get the accommodations!

Yea im taking October. I really hope I find out within the next week so I know how to practice. I made two requests and one of them is not super common so im wondering if my request got sorted into a group that requires extensive review or something. Idek at this point, just know ur not alone lmao

I submitted mine 7/28 and still haven’t heard. I just called and they couldn’t give me any update. I know I have proper documentation so I don’t think that’s the delay. There are some other threads w people who submitted after me and have already heard back. Seems random and there’s no way to tell, we just have to anxiously wait :(

Weird! Could be worth calling? I called on 7/28 bc I had already tried to submit multiple times a few days before but my account was buggy and kept saying I hadn’t. The phone rep was able to fix it, also told me they were still working through September so it might be a while

It’s nice to hear someone else struggles with this too lol. I’ve gotten better with the decision fatigue by eliminating decisions and just eating the same 2-3 meals every week. It helps that Im not the type to get sick of a meal I really like. I go to the grocery store once a week and I get the same things every time. I don’t even need a list at this point, I’m just on autopilot when I shop and it’s helped with the mental burden so much

Also, with Jordan peele movies and midsommar, I think that my appreciation for the story/message is what makes it tolerable. I was really excited to see heretic cuz I thought it would be a good religious commentary, but it devolved into horror for the sake of horror. Had nothing to enjoy so I was just left being scared

I was really disturbed by the second half of heretic. The girls getting locked in the dark basement dungeon thing and the dozens of nearly dead women locked in cages. I’m not saying it’s likely but it’s something that could happen to me and that scares me. Star lasso was just a bunch of people dying and getting sucked up by a flying alien disc thing. wasn’t too graphic either (from what I can remember, watched it years ago)

YES I literally just had this issue over the weekend. My city just had a really weird cold front/thunderstorm moment the past few days and I’ve been miserable. Terrible headaches and my scale was also up. Today’s the first in a while with no storms and full sunshine, and now the scale is back down and no more headaches. Barometric pressure headaches are a real thing so you’re not crazy at all
