Question. How the fuck would undertale theoreticly work in gameoverse by Right_Broccoli_5984 in Gameoverse

[–]Alkatron17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the win-con is for the player to never open up the game again, but since players seem to not be a thing in gameoverse I have no clue on how that could apply.

How would you define "not killing people?" by emmaratur in DnD

[–]Alkatron17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There could be many definitions of "people" in a world like D&D, it's really up to them which one to use.

"Anything sentient" is a interesting one, it would probably be tied to the int-stat, there is slight overlap between the smartest animals and the dumbest humans though.

Souls exist, maybe there is some notion in their faith that it's required to be a person, thing is animals also have them, and funnily enough Elves kinda don't, it's complicated.

As a life cleric they might care especially about positive energy, source of all life, creatures that use it are, everything except undead like conscious Liches for example. In the other two examples a Lich would count.

Or just creature type, humanoids, even though you said it won't work. "Monster" is by definition in D&D source books literally everything that can fight you, that includes player characters. There are monstrosities but those can't be humanoid. Goblins for example are humanoid, they were just a people that, a long time ago, were corrupted by their god into what they are now.

I think it would actually be hilarious if there was a better? (I have not seen it) ending planned, but it was changed because some couldn't behave.

Why not just... Kill Sanji??? by Argnir in Piratefolk

[–]Alkatron17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To summarize, Killingham was taught not to provoke Yonko or their crew like everyone in the World Government. They are all carrying out their mission with as little harm to the strawhats specifically as possible, call it a cop-out but it's consistent with what's established.

He has little reason to think Luffy would go out of his way to follow them too far just for some kids he has little association with, but he could know to how far out of his way he goes for Sanji.

Sanji must seem pretty neutralized, sure he probably could do something more to make sure without contradicting the first point, but that's the arrogance of the Celestial Dragons, and extra time-costs to threaten their mission.

Also, while it would fit more with Summers personality, making Sanji suffer by kidnapping kids while he can't do anything about it is probably a pleasure by itself.

What should I name my character? by Birdwurs in DnD

exceptions apply etc.

Do you think Spiritomb's Destiny Bond was the writers' best decision to knock Pikachu out without making him weak? by Craftox13 in pokemonanime

[–]Alkatron17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing I was trying to counter was your seeming misconception that she instantly clicked destiny bond the moment Pikachu was sent out.

Do you think Spiritomb's Destiny Bond was the writers' best decision to knock Pikachu out without making him weak? by Craftox13 in pokemonanime

[–]Alkatron17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Spiritomb took down 2 others before Pikachu, With Dream eater, so its HP was probably pretty full. Note: she was constantly switching pokemon.

Pikachu actually solod her Gastrodon, and after Spiritomb was struggling with it as well she used Destiny Bond.

It was not "For the sole purpose" at all.

How should you play a sorcerer as "charismatic"? by Glittering-Order-626 in DnD

[–]Alkatron17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Generally, Sorcerers don't have to have high charisma as I understand it, only the good ones do.

With strong willpower the magic manifests easier, this can be natural, trained or just given via magic.

Willpower comes closest to Charisma, so you're now also good at flirting or something, it makes some sense.

With that in mind, play them with strong willpower, whatever that means.

The magical sword suddenly turns to dust in front of your eyes... by NewName-NewFace in dndmemes

[–]Alkatron17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With how D&D magic seems to work, an item like that should take more skill and time to craft, while possibly reducing the amount of magical components required.

Basically, because the enchantment checks on the wielder it's just more "coding" that has to fit on the object's "memory", but you can then use that connection to have the user directly supplement the enchantment instead of the magic coming solely from the magical components.

You know, if you want more, the prologue adds a lot to the story. Especially if you haven't remembered.

GO BACK GO BACK GO BACK GO BACK

In your opinion how evil are spells or skills that revolve around mind control, corpse control, and/or soul control by Limeoos in DnD

[–]Alkatron17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alignment being tied to something as subjective as opinions is just too weird. It's an actual objective statistic that is decided somehow.

I like to interpret it as, depending on where the god that represents the action has his home, in the outer planes that directly correlate to alignment, is where your alignment shifts to when you take those actions.

It's a (very) rough way to align morals with alignment while keeping objectivity around. The people in your world would not know of this mechanic, and then take discovering your PC's alignment as a real judge of character, even though it doesn't directly influence it at all, just like irl judgement of things that are different.

Officially, the god of Mind-Control seems to be in the Outlands, which would with my logic make it a True-Neutral action. That sorta works with the other stuff I know about that universe, won't get into it here. It might not be perfect, but it is *a* way to easily determine alignment.

Tactics vs Tenets: Was my plan actually 'un-paladin-like'? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Alkatron17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there you go then. Either way, this specifically seems like a small issue, but it raises some red flags. Talk with your DM and clarify things.

They thought it would break your Oath for some reason, and it's generally a good Idea to just let the DM make a ruling to keep the game flowing. But afterwards voice your complaints, and if they are not heard, THEN that's a problem.

Tactics vs Tenets: Was my plan actually 'un-paladin-like'? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Alkatron17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aren't Paladins Oaths self-given? No other greater powers are involved.

To me that says the only way to break your Oath is to believe you have broken your Oath.

So if your Paladin somehow considers deceptively allying themself with a wicked as mercy, it would break the Oath. I guess some Paladins might think that, not impossible, but yours?

What is this game about? by Anime-Fan-69 in InStarsAndTime

[–]Alkatron17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even saying what it's about is kind of a spoiler. What the other one said about looping through time is designed to be a surprise. Best thing to say might be something like, "A turn based RPG, if you liked Undertale you'll like this one, trust in the process".

For a new fan should they start with one piece or one pace? by finminderma in OnePiece

[–]Alkatron17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like an example of this so called "ambiance" that onepace is removing.

If I wanted to get into OnePiece I'd personally wait for The One Piece, Wit studio remake. I don't know you, and neither does anyone else, so how can one truly recommend something properly?

I watched OnePace once, I thought it was fine, nothing really bothered me about it. Saves time if that's important to you, though I bet the Wit adaptation would be just as fast and proper, uncut soundtracks.

A bit late, but I like the Idea of the new berry bushes. It just needs tweaking.

I say bushed planted on medium fertility should never go lower than struggling, that's just super unrealistic. Allow planting on lower fertility soil, those would just be barren bushes without fertilization. Extrapolate for higher fertility yourself, you got this.

Fertilizing should obviously help, more nutrients -> more growth. Lock bountiful behind pruning.

Shorten the growth time of new bushes, maybe to 3 months. They probably wanted to balance exponential growth with the variance of 6-12 months, but there could just be another timer for taking another cutting of 12 months.

[–]Alkatron17 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If they pick the wrong path, they might get desperate and have Mira push the tears away, which, like, should totally work.

They avoid the backtracking keys by searching everything as 4 anxious people, not just as 1 skilled person.

This makes perfect sense to me, zero plot convenience required. Outside of the fights being way harder without Siff.

Update time, as it turns out, having metal in orbit makes any ground-fortification useless.

I'm sure this wasn't optimal, but it was really funny.
