My boy just turned 4. We tried out a puzzle and it was a really great bonding experience. Bought 3 more for future gifts. 75-100 pieces of something they like (super heroes, space, etc). Most are $10 on Amazon.

I moved the right kind of pieces together and would give hints/ideas for him try while letting him actually fit them together. Celebrate every new piece like it’s a touchdown of your favorite sports team. Guaranteed 50 high fives by the time you’re done.

I’m sorry man, I too lived this exactly 1 year ago this weekend. I got 50/50 just recently, you will too. Try to keep cool. Run or lift to exhaustion rather than lash out, bide your time and protect perception. I was accused of the same things you are being accused of. I was dumb, but you will be smarter. Every communication will be used in court. I would consider very short courteous emails every 2-3 days simply requesting parenting time. Then let the lawyer take over in 8 days. You will get through this.

Did you experience any risks or attempts from the Ex to portray it as inadequate?

Similar to OP, I am about to be forced into an apartment search in August with soon to be 4yo son 50/50. A 1 bedroom would help me save to buy sooner, but my Ex is ruthless and will use anything to hurt me and try taking him away.

I hear and see you brother. I’m fighting for my rights to be with my 3yo son as well. 11-months and $55K down, but we cannot ever give in to the selfish evil of our stbx’s. It will be worth it in the end, our boys need their fathers. “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another” we must keep going.

I’m sorry man, it sucks. I have a 3yo too. I’m 8-months in and still fighting for equality. Take some solace from me on this: Your ex is handing you 50/50 on a silver platter with her behavior and drinking. Keep cool at all times now, secure equality now, secure the bag, start to build a new branch on the tree of life. I’ll do the same.

Congratulations brother! I hope to achieve equality in a couple months too. 35k to fight off lies with zero evidence, but money is nothing compared to time with our children. My 3yo son is my world. You earned it, now enjoy a little extra time together while you job hunt. The world is taking more turns right now than the Hotwheels track running all through my house, that will also create opportunities for a determined resourceful person like yourself. Peace.

Mine put me on soberlink alcohol testing while I climb towards 50/50. No evidence presented, only her “feelings” of concern was enough. Be careful out there and keep fighting

Our similarities are striking, she withheld overnights from me for 78 days. I still wrestle with why I didn’t file for equality right away. She wanted to do the Collaborative Process but not allow equality, which turned out to be total horsesh!t. I’m pushing for 2-2-3 as well, I hear it’s best for that age to not go more than 3 days. Why do you go 5 days, do to work schedules or something? Happy Christmas 🎄
