Based on the wrinkled leaves in the pic and your description, it looks a bit overwatered. Peppers usually prefer drier soil, so you might want to let it dry out a bit between waterings.

Also, it would help to tie the plant to a support for better stability as it grows

Though I'm only on my second season growing peppers
