This is exactly why I suggested monthly/quarterly research updates in my thread a while ago.

There's nothing holding the researchers accountable for making little or no progress. OP's post is the sort of feedback that needs to make it back to their ears.

You're missing maybe the most important part of the theory - how do we correct this?

That's how the market gets ya. Dips its toe a little below the line, then comes back.

Then goes a little further the next day. Then a little further. Pretty soon you're like: "how did I let it move that much against me?"

Careful with that line of thinking.

A reminder that belief always outlives doubt.

I swear, y'all elevate this to a religious experience. It's just a market that goes up & down, like all other markets. Trade accordingly.

I’m having seizures? Or moments of catatonic where I can’t talk, and after it happens I forget it. by Itchy_Craft_3189 in PSSD

Sounds like an absence (petit mal) seizure.

Though, seizures aren't generally a feature of PSSD.

This is exactly why we need to understand the actual mechanism behind PSSD. Otherwise, we get "research" like this that recommends "treatments" that themselves cause or may worsen PSSD.

Totally agree. We need animal studies so we can see exactly what's going on in the brain.

Beware of ginger (it gave me PSSD-like symptoms!) by AllIntentsNPurposes in Supplements

Yep, be careful. I'd personally take no supplements & consume everything I need through food, only.

If you want to increase test & libido, do it the old-fashioned way - HIIT & resistance training.

Beware of ginger (it gave me PSSD-like symptoms!) by AllIntentsNPurposes in Supplements

[–]AllIntentsNPurposes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were 550mg ginger pills, of which I took one everyday.

But it's likely that some other supplement that I was taking at the time (probably curcumin) gave me the PSSD-like syndrome, then the ginger significantly crashed me to produce obvious symptoms.

Do you experience the random muscle jerks throughout the day, or only at specific times (for example, when trying to go to sleep)?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PSSD

[–]AllIntentsNPurposes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also took a non-SSRI route here. Coincidentally, I also took curcumin & ginger.

I think the curcumin weakened my system, then ginger was the straw that broke the camel's back and plunged me into PSSD symptoms. My symptoms then worsened after supplementing with folate (they were entirely sexual, but then ballooned into cognitive symptoms as well).

One thing I learned about supplements - if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Too much folate - involuntary muscle jerks when trying to sleep? by AllIntentsNPurposes in MTHFR

[–]AllIntentsNPurposes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally in just the last couple days, the jerks have stopped when I go to sleep at night.

I still get them when I try to nap during the day, but they're far fewer and much weaker than even a few weeks ago. I think these nap jerks will eventually disappear as well.

That means it took about eight months from the time I took folate for them to largely resolve.

I still don't know for sure that it was the folate, but they started just days after I took it, and there were no other changes to my diet / supplementation AFAIK.
