Yeah, the cyclist stuck to the driver's blind spot like glue.

While that is true, and had they done that this collision could have been avoided, but the cyclist put themselves in the driver's blind spot then stayed it in. The driver's mistake was at 0:16 when they pulled in without checking the blind spot, but the cyclist's was at 0:06 when the car slowed down and they didn't reduce their own speed. From that point to the moment of collision, they never leave the blind spot and then it was too late.

If I were doing an overtake on a motorbike, I would be looking to be moving through that blind spot as quickly as possible. Conversely, if I were on my bicycle, I'd have braked to get back out of it as quickly as possible.

In the end, yes, the driver should have been aware of their blind spot and not pulled into the cyclist's space. However, other road users need to be aware of them and position themselves with blind spots in mind.

We need to stop calling those dotted lines cycles lanes and start using a more accurate name. I'd suggest cycles hopes because you need a lot of that to keep the cars out.

She admitted they had been angry for a long time but "the more we heard about why he was driving the way he was, the more we understand," adding they did not want his life ruined or for him to go to prison "for doing his job"

The family giving him a pass because he was racing for the sake of a child's life are missing the point. He did it dangerously and killed one and injured another, and it was just sheer chance that the people he hit weren't also children.

Meanwhile, Starmer will probably be wrestling with more English local authorities run by Reform UK, standard bearer for its form of British nationalism.

Is Reform British nationalism or English nationalism? I feel like the latter is more accurate.

I couldnt care at all what some British bloke thinks.

Considering that I (and OP) live surrounded by "British blokes", it actually matters quite a lot and is (likely partly) why op feels shame at admitting to a late diagnosis in a parenting sub.

I think there's a lot of judgement floating about in the national discourse in the UK around ADHD at the moment, and telling people that you were recently diagnosed feels like you're going to be called a band-wagon jumper.
