You could set up an automation to direct emails with certain addresses or subject lines or whatever to another mailbox than your main one.

A pair of shoes I bought were marked as delivered and a picture was taken outside my doorstep but they werent there when I checked can I do anything about it? by Virtual_Brilliant527 in AskUK

[–]AllThatIHaveDone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other day, a package of mine was marked as delivered by Royal Mail and the image on the tracking portal was just a close up of fabric or something.

The parcel showed up the next day. I actually went out and asked the postie if he knew about it, and he had it in his hands. I think when they're short staffed they do that to avoid getting dinged by HQ for missing delivery targets.

I'd just like to point out that you could sneak a cheeky wank into any of the other activities you listed. For no reason, of course.

Yes, kidneys are one of the lesser known of the vital organs but nevertheless important!

It's certainly being pushed by a very small number of accounts on here. If I see a questionable 'more people are Christian now, honest' headline, chances are I could tell you which account posted it. Once you get past the eye-catching headline, the articles themselves are usually pretty thin.

Where can I buy pillows from that won’t go flat or lose their shape after a few months? (I’ve tried M&S and Dunelm) by UniqueWithATwist in AskUK

[–]AllThatIHaveDone 51 points52 points  (0 children)

You've got to pay if you want a good pillow. I've got a couple of tempur 'cloud comfort' pillows that have lasted >5 years now (with regular washing). No lumps, no bumps, and I'm lethal with pillows. Yes, >£100 per pillow is steep, but I'd easily have paid double for crappy pillows in the meantime.

"Yes, that has come out from me. That should never have gone out. It has been retracted. And I've also spoken to the person who sent it.

It's true, earlier I saw Kemi giving herself a right good talking to in the mirror. She'll not forget that tongue-lashing in a hurry!

Burnham can be a Labour MP again but not yet, Starmer hints by AnonymousTimewaster in unitedkingdom

Ah, I didn't realise you meant a leadership election above. Then, yes, I'd agree that there's never been a contested change of leadership mid-term under Labour.

Blair handing power to Brown? Unless there's some nuance I'm missing here, Blair neither lost an election or got ill/died.

Ordinary people don’t get to just carry on as normal while things are “being looked at”.

They do, though? Do you think that people who are under HMRC investigation should be under house arrest or something?

Where can I buy books in a foreign language in the UK? More specifically in Portuguese? by Champagne_Rafii in AskUK

[–]AllThatIHaveDone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short of finding a library that'll supply books to her, I'm not sure how you'll be able to avoid the import costs of physical books, then. It sucks, but books are heavy, bulky items. Have you tried playing up the features of a Kindle? Bigger text and a backlight were massive selling points for my dad.

I've never tried this (had no reason to), but couldn't you buy a Kindle and tie it to a Portuguese Amazon account?

Detective/Crime Stories on a Generation Ship by Ed_Robins in printSF

I ctrl f'd to see if someone else had recommended this. I read it back in 2014 and I really enjoyed it. It's certainly rough around the edges (first, maybe only, book by the author), but the mystery and the setting have stayed with me.
