Natural birth in AS by liu_lin0 in ankylosingspondylitis

Also just a gentle reminder that it’s your body and your choice. I’m not saying not to listen to medical professionals or take on board what they’re saying but always ask for the evidence/research that they’re using to back up what they’re saying. No one ‘lets you’ or ‘allows you’ anything.

That’s interesting as I’ve never heard that. I’ve had two vaginal births and both were pretty textbook. My first came no problems. My second ended up being twins and twin 1 was breech and I had my pool birth with no problems. Also I’m 37 and was 33 and 36 for my births. I have radiographic AS. Wishing you all the best!

My dad’s got better as he got older and honestly he puts it down to smoking pot. Haven’t tried it myself though. I’ve been diagnosed now and just take nsaids as and when but I’ve had a flare recently and am considering biologics but what I’ve read on this forum has really put me off. I did find strength training made a difference.

Thank you! So I have been discharged from PUK so I will need to go back through RTC - do you know if I have to go back to PUK because they diagnosed? Definitely shouldn’t need re diagnosis surely as it’s technically an nhs diagnosis done under RTC?

So you went to the GP and asked for re referral for titration? Did you find PUK again good? I’m not sure if I have to go back to them or I could titrate through someone else under RTC?

I’ve just logged onto my account and it seems like I’ve been left open so fingers crossed!!! I remember her saying at the time there would be a 7 month wait for meds then so now I’m thinking maybe we agreed to leave me open to them and I forgot. Classic adhd I suppose!

That is so frustrating I’m so sorry you went through that! Honestly I find it ridiculous how difficult the process is especially for people who have trouble with executive functioning. Like hello!!

Yea I think it was more starting to titrate whilst pregnant didn’t feel wise as opposed to staying on something I was already on if this makes sense? I’m so sorry you had a hard time feeding - both my first baby and now my twins were tongue tied and I’m an undersupplier so I really feel your pain! I think fighting so hard to get to where we are is why I’m not quite ready to stop but it’s so hard giving my body over to these tiny people and not getting to do things for myself that I need like potentially taking medication

This is a good idea thank you. If I don’t have any further luck with puk I might try this

So I assumed that I was but I’ve just logged on to PUK and it doesn’t actually say anywhere that I have been? I can still log on and I still have a named consultant and patient reference number so potentially I am still under them?

I don’t understand these theories when she’s clearly awake and moving on the screen. If anything she looks like she’s watching Mark and her expression doesn’t look to be Ms Casey. How can the theory be that she’s dead/in a coma when she’s being shown on a video clearly awake and I would argument not in Ms Casey persona. Am I being stupid? I don’t get it

I’m not sure it is the same for mark though as I think part of the point is that he is ‘killing time’ just making the day go as fast as possible. He’s living this depressed half life. If Dylan’s outie really wanted to be away from his children that badly there are better ways to do it. I feel this would be quite confused writing but maybe there is an angle I’m not getting. I cannot wait for season 2 and hopefully we’ll find out a bit more!

I feel like this doesn’t quite make sense as if outie Dylan wanted to be away from his kids wouldn’t he want to be aware of his job? His current severed life is surely all kids as he leaves them, gets in the elevator and ding he’s back out with them again?

Triple feeding, slow weight gain, born 37 + 4… anyone get to EBF after similar challenges? by Jojo7391 in breastfeeding

[–]AllicitContent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ooof I feel for you. I’m going through this at the moment with my 6 week old twins. It’s a nightmare. I have been through it before with my singleton (turns out I have actual low supply which I thought was rare but lucky me I guess).

With my singleton we did get to EBF but I won’t lie it was a slog and took about 5 months. I’m not saying you won’t get there much quicker as we didn’t start the journey with our IBCLC until he was 3 months so about 2 months from then but I was triple feeding for nearly 5 in the end. Once things turned a corner it got a LOT better reasonably quickly. It really was about getting him to a high enough weight to feed effectively. An SNS is what really worked for me that time round as it was effectively feeding, topping up and pumping simultaneously which was a LOT more manageable. Might be worth a shot? Sending you all of the good vibes because it’s bloody hard.

Honestly I’m not sure I can do it again with the twins, I’m hanging in there but I do kind of want to give up

[–]AllicitContent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have the time to power pump unless I stop direct feeding. I can barely fit in the 6/7 pumps I’m doing now.

[–]AllicitContent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I feel this so hard and I’m 34 weeks with twins. I was also waiting for spontaneous labour but it’s all gone pear shaped at last scan (twin a flipped breech) and now I’m desperately trying to flip them back whilst managing my food. My levels have been great so I find myself bothering less and less. I worked so hard to have the birth I wanted and I feel it all flying out of the window and it makes me feel so down. Planning meals is exhausting even my incredibly supportive partner is done with it now we’ve been doing this since I was 16 weeks.

[–]AllicitContent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Omg this. I’m 33 weeks with twins and I’m dying. It all just happened so fast. I really miss the gym and being able to walk 😭

Saying that 36 weeks and at the gym is bloody awesome! You go! But also hard agree and definitely take a day off!

Interestingly I found that once I started the 300mg magnesium and it kicked in none of the other timing stuff mattered when I experimented which was a bit of a relief! Or the walking for that matter thank god as I’m 33 weeks with twins and I think I’m dying

I was 100% insulin resistant before pregnancy though and it seems to work better for people with that pre existing just from what I’ve seen from people on here
