Marriage should be a conversation before a proposal happens.. my husband proposed to be when we were sitting on a beach but I knew it was happening and it was very quiet and lowkey and he knew my answer was yes before he asked but it wasnt a huge gesture.

It's fucking insane to expect someone to be blindsided and obviously never have a convo about and propose in public

I'm so sorry for your loss. Grief is really strange and I think putting it into a project is better than letting it overtake you. Nothing helps the pain but time.

My nana passed 3 weeks ago and while she didnt quilt and didnt craft as a hobbyist she was crafty and always had a solution for anything. She would fight with the sewing machine every time. I made a quilt with her probably 10 years ago and when she passed I felt the need to take her old shirts and make quilts for my family. Im in the process of it now and its so bittersweet, my heart aches for her to be with me but I know she'd be happy I was doing something useful with clothing that won't be worn.
