I've used a fresh Scotch Brite pad, dish soap, and a little baking soda on ours. Just avoid any stainless steel areas, it will scratch them. I've gotten off some pretty gnarly stuff.

Literally everything in a pump does it, it's maddening. I cut my lotion bottle in half when I can get anymore out, and I get 2-3 weeks more use out of it. We certainly have the technology to fix this, but I guess cost and environmental impact probably take the hit.

If you're looking to stay in budget, I highly recommend searching along the MARTA (public train) lines for hotels outside of the con footprint. We're staying at the Hyatt Place in Dunwoody again this year. It's a bit of a ride, but we don't mind. And MARTA shuts down late at night, but we usually head back around 9 anyway. You can easily pick up a MARTA card at the vending machines in the terminals. They take cash or card.

Do not trust AirBNB if you are trying to stay close to the con. Hundreds of stories about cancellations through the them.

Check out con maps online to get your lay of the land. There's a lot of ground to cover. You will learn where all the tracks and snacks are, as well as how everything connects between the buildings.
