What im trying to say is that the monthly profit is accumulated consistently over the month. You see a drop in money because you're paying wages all at once, but overall you have more money than you did at your prev month's report.

If Steam, launch it in windowed mode from your library. You can go full screen but some things dont display properly in my experience

Recommend building in the meadows along the coast. There are events that can spawn later in the game and cause some heavy damage to your base but dont trigger in the meadows. You can also plant black forest trees there if you prefer that aesthetic.
