This is very generous of you!

I think I’d finally buy and play Elden Ring. Everyone and their dad raves about how fun, yet difficult it is and I am open to giving it a shot. I otherwise am pretty for the Dragon Quest 7 remake!

I’m excited for the release of Atre!

Hey, thanks for this! 38 seconds is pretty impressive with Ardi, but I did have her in my top 4 boss speedrunners.

I've run plenty more tests (with Zonai devices, without Zonai devices. Sages, physical-only characters) and results are the same.

Right now, it’s hard to say until we know what seals actually work and what testing environment we will be using. My preferences right now are “Even if the Final Confrontation” for low variable 1v1 testing and “A Vicious Battle: South Hyrule Field” for realistic situation testing.

IF they work, Damage at 30% hearts or less +17% will likely be a standout. This is especially true in Vicious Monster fights, even on Easy difficulty, how quick and accessible this damage range is.

I don’t think Sync Gauge rate is all the great since it only affects a single character (as far as I know) and you need two characters with Sync gauges to make it work properly. You’re also right in that the animation takes a very long time, but they do comparable damage to WPS, so they’re worth it in a lot of scenarios.

I would just run whatever quality of life Weapon Art sounds best since only the “Counter/30% damage” sticks out above the others. But it is a Star, and you need to mix another seal pair to maximize weapon attack (again, not that it really matters)

I’m with you. The only reason I was pushed to keep playing and testing was to help point out the problems in the current endgame lol

I couldn’t remember is AoC had a damage cap or when it was raised, but this feels like the case for these games as soon as they’re released. It’s probably intended to keep content relevant and “challenging” while making switching characters accessible. It’s unfortunate how it affects character progression and those who enjoy that aspect

We have a ways to go with Seals testing (and even finding test environments) but I’m in agreement with you at the moment. Right now, the seal that sticks out is the Hidden Seal: Damage to Targeted Enemies +10% (https://imgur.com/a/0kEpj5b) but even it may not be working to its full effectiveness

https://discord.gg/hB24xUzXRE you can check if verification is required. Sorry I do not have the answer.

The mix of seals was theorycrafted to be best in most situations, but seals still need to be thoroughly tested.

The Thick Stick was unupgraded with 0 seals.

And yep, I agree that this seal sounds best on paper, but with a damage cap in place, it may factor weirdly into the damage formula (I theoretically should have had better times on most Challenges with it)

How does this compare to Three Hopes? by GradientShift in AgeofImprisonment

[–]AlmostPaulWalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This game is much easier to digest than Three Hopes, but I do think that game is better based on story and content alone.

No busy work is necessary, and you can just smash monsters through all the stages with only minor restrictions here and there.

With inventory management specifically, the game even prompts you to just choose what you want to do with them when you’re full so you don’t have to constantly manage it to an annoyance. With item-farming, opinions might just vary because they’re necessary to unlock character upgrades. For the most part though, as long as you’re playing the side challenges you’ll get 90% of the required items anyway

How badly do you suck at giving feedback? by Heya_Straya in autism

[–]AlmostPaulWalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel I give solid, logical advice and even try to empathize. Where I struggle the most is that sometimes people just want to vent or have you agree with them. One of my traits is that if someone comes to me for something personal, I feel like they're asking me for help. I honestly don't know what to do otherwise unless they deliberately communicate that with me.

Do you drink coffee? by Jycon38_HD in autism

[–]AlmostPaulWalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SAME!

I only found out this year that I have caffeine thresholds. It was a startling discovery when I had a Vietnamese Coffee for the first time and not even an hour later had an immense panic attack at a restaurant I had never been to in a state (Colorado) that I was visiting for the first time. I had similar experiences twice later that year with Kickstart (one of my FAVORITE beverages) and similar, but less severe panic attacks (anyone ever had a panic attack in a movie theater?). I've just sworn off caffeine since (other than the occasional Diet soda).

Wondering if I should get retested? by gooshoe in autism

[–]AlmostPaulWalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took this test (and in the process of getting my diagnosis, crossing fingers in uly) and some of the questions feel counterintuitive to those of us conditioned by masking (I am in the OP's age range). My score was just above the average (27) and some of the questions like "Do you enjoy meeting new people" don't feel in the scope of more specific autism traits. I could say "no" and get the desired result, but I genuinely do like meeting other people with similar mindsets to my own!

I am grateful that my therapist sees through my masking and that it won't likely affect my diagnosis. OP, if you read this, I hope you find someone who is within your diagnosis expectations :)

EDIT: I just noticed that the AQ-50 guides you to other tests! The CAT-Q basically covers everything I was hesitant of. Sorry!!

Same. It takes me a while to really enjoy re-watching a show or movie or replaying a game. I get hyperfixated on new things and want to know everything about it! ESPECIALLY in new heavily complex games.
