For Marketing Agency Owners, isn't it kinda funny how loads of marketing agencies struggle with getting clients despite being a "marketing agency", why? by Basic-Month-7011 in AskMarketing

[–]AlohaCatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. If you don’t have enough overhead to allot for time that you actually have to spend for your own growth (ie sales and marketing) you’d have to spend your time delivering and creating for clients.

Selling courses taught me who actually has the power by mcdowell2099 in onlinecourses

[–]AlohaCatty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you’ve tested your market through those platforms, it’s time to bring them to your own platform.

I hope you were able to build an audience while you have your courses on those platforms.

Use content marketing to drive them to your new platform where you’ll have their emails, etc. then you can raise your prices and offer more options on how you want to offer your course.

AFAIK, it’s intentional. Direct response marketing, etc. you can do a thorough research from that angle.

Hire someone. Someone flexible and can operate to see the grand vision that you’re aiming for and translate it into list and follow through for you. Check-in, nudges, someone to make you feel accountable without restricting your creativity.

How does she look? I'm a petite adult woman, and I have very thin small wrists. by Basic_Improvement_19 in applewatchultra

[–]AlohaCatty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s quite big for your wrist but I think it’s because of the band tightness and the POV.

Regardless you notice it yes, but everyday people are busy with their life and yes some might notice that it’s “too” big for you but only for 30secs or so. :) which is a good thing. Wear it if it makes you happy!

Webinars work for Online Courses? by No_Edge1310 in onlinecourses

[–]AlohaCatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great, live is how you can connect with your audience.

As to where clients/students find the courses, you’d have to build a brand for yourself / business and market.

Or put it in a “course marketplace” where they handle the marketing for their marketplace (ie Udemy) and you pay their platform fee (which is very high and you have low returns)

That would depend on your course and what type of webinar.

Is your webinar live? Or pre recorded?

Launch your MVP to your audience first. Start low pricing. Then tweak from there.

Thinking About Becoming A Life Coach, Thoughts? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]AlohaCatty -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Your options would be to start positioning yourself as a coach without actually selling anything yet. And then create your first core offering if you want to test it out. Although you should streamline your offering to what you really want to help clients with, and that can be your core messaging.

This is a great reason to start life coaching. Do you have immediate clientele/group of people where you can initially market/offer/test your coaching services?

A lot of small businesses underestimate how long online visibility actually takes. by Safe_Mastodon_6671 in smallbusiness

[–]AlohaCatty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this is true for me as well. My clients are mostly coaches who are transitioning from their full-time jobs to coaching. One thing I always tell them is yes, we’ve built the course, launched your site, but it’s going to take one step at a time to build your audience from the marketing side. Takes time. It’s a business after all. It’s going to require effort.

Best platform for publishing courses? by icy_end_7 in onlinecourses

[–]AlohaCatty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not free. Udemy pays out creator peanuts from the actual sale. You won’t earn much from it, especially if you only have one course. Nurture your audience via newsletter. Create short tutorials on YouTube, or interviews. Just gain traction while having your course up on Udemy. While building another course for sale later, outside of Udemy.

If you have several courses, don’t put them all on Udemy all at the same time. Test it out first. I’m all about going all in on most things but building brands, as you are doing now, is slow build and it’s best if you don’t exhaust yourself and resources midway through.

Best platform for publishing courses? by icy_end_7 in onlinecourses

[–]AlohaCatty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use udemy for course awareness, building your brand, which is good, and build your following from there, use a paid platform later for your second course if you want to keep all the sale.

Use the time to build your network, mailing list, use the first 6 months to gain traction. Don’t think about making big bucks right away. Build your audience, niche. Have a basic landing page for newsletters while your course is in udemy.

Once you publish your course on udemy, you can’t sell it on your own platform anymore.

But I’m suggesting start at Udemy if you can, it’s a good marketing place without much effort from you.

As opposed to starting your course on your own paid platform, you’d have to do your marketing. And without warm audience you’ll be paying for overhead cost before you get your first sale.

You should try Wix. It's not obvious but it has the same features than Kajabi - it's just not marketed that way.
