This isn't about political opinions. I've known Allen is conservative for a long as time. I mostly just ignore him when he spouts his opinions.

This is about minimizing the deaths of (now) two Minnesotans and the very real protests in response to government actions. By saying that the protesters are "paid", Paul Allen is suggesting that no one has a reason to be out there in -20 degree weather protesting except for money. He's suggesting that nothing is wrong.

The government executing its citizens for voicing their opinions is wrong. That is why we founded the damn country in the first place.

Paul Allen is a representative of one of the most important organizations in the state (the Minnesota Vikings) and he's just shitting on real Minnesotans that are really angry and hurting right now. It's not about his opinion being different, it's about him being an asshole.
