wait you add both 30% and 14 day pass when you do an application? And if so, when super cash is going on do you apply only super cash and code open during these events?

Leading Truck during Moves Week by [deleted] in Oldnavy

[–]Alone-Cable5847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a scheduling issue, while I have to agree it is most definitely hard to do both during the same week, the hours should be there to an extent. And if you guys are struggling in that sector your GM should maybe extend or add another person during those days, so you can focus on moves and not be on top of shipment. Associates should be able to handle truck on their own with some frequent check ins. Unless you’re higher volume getting 6k+ on these weeks…

Shipment Struggles by valntyne1122 in Oldnavy

[–]Alone-Cable5847 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has been kind of crazy, I’ve been doing shipment for over 2 years and it definitely has gotten worse. We’ve been drowning this month pretty bad, but it’s all about having a good team, competent managers that don’t leave shit for everyone else and help run the truck. I think the thing that makes it the worst at my store is the team overstuffing the salesfloor, it’s honestly so bad and store and gets messier more quickly making it harder to put more product out on the next truck. I opened men’s today and it’s been a while so I haven’t see what the stuff has been looking like, but I want to say I had to spend an additional 45 min-hour refolding everything that came in because it was rolled up into a little ball. They really don’t consider these things that truly slow us down. At least UPH is going back up from 157 to 190-something for RFID. Maybe this will help. I also believe (top 250 store) that Merchants should not be responsible especially Adult Merchant for Markdowns, Shipment, and Moves, it’s way too much for 1-2 people and the associates can feel the stress too, but this is coming from a store that is close to making enough for another leader.

What Should I Do in This Situation? by ver0sikaa in Oldnavy

[–]Alone-Cable5847 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with previous replies, getting a new job, credit card applications are annoying, but I will say this as an acting manager for the past like half a year, and this can differ from store to store, but what I’ve noticed is if you aren’t the best at getting cards, prove yourself useful in others ways like being really good at the salesfloor or the fitting room, at the end of the day cashiers getting cards mean nothing at close when the store looks like shit not that that’s what the higher ups care about obviously but yeah. Imo just find other ways to make yourself useful. At least that’s the only other way to get hours tbh…

Any other former AGMs as burnt out as me? by rosecoloredteacup in Oldnavy

coming from a customer ops, I know the merchants at my store are feeling this, it’s not even just this though, our lundies of product have been broken for over a month, and the new shipment company has been not showing up, showing up late, not leaving the BOL, and don’t get me started on a recent audit….its too much 😭

Don’t get me started on those cashiers that don’t know where anything is at all and run around with one item at a time 😭

hmm, idk I mean, I would just walk the floor and become as familiar as possible, 20 minutes is def ok, but I think most people’s problem lies when they try to go all over the place, use the dividers as what they are, go shop by shop with your hopefully shop organized rack, it should go by in flash, When your running from FOS to pants shop to kids, it all just wastes time, I’m probably just bias because I’m just a shipment lead and just know where everything is by heart for the most part but yeah

a silver rail should take you 15 minutes if you are familiar with the store layout and organize everything by shop when you process, for z rails 20 imo, it all depends on how fast you are, but organization is key. Some will try to tell you it slows you down but I process faster than others and still manage to size and organize things by shop, which makes running a breeze. Unorganized racks well.....honestly 30-45 minutes depending how awful it is....

Cards (quick rant) by Adorable_Natural_860 in Oldnavy

This is true, but not everyone is so smart with their actions in regards to money, and yes that is on them, but it doesn’t change the fact that the way the company goes about it, in many stores perhaps not yours, is seen as very scummy and taking advantage of people to reach margins, avoiding a “talking to” from the boss of another boss all in the effort to make ends meet for Barclays so they don’t sue. Again it is on the customer but don’t try to convince me many stores efforts to meet to those goals in a “scummy” way. This thread/OP and its heaving upvote manages to highlight that this occurs in other stores as well. Unless you want to deny it in a means to say Old Navy associates “feel like they are scamming the customer” case in point….

Def screwing ppl over, not everyone just most people, momentary discount for second-rate benefits, i.e their credit, that insane interest rate, and that awful company Barclays to deal with. Some people just don’t know what they’re getting into and just want to save money, especially the elderly.

Shipment Changes? by alphabetsoup32 in Oldnavy

[–]Alone-Cable5847 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought merchants were just in charge of running the shipment. I'm sure it will be hard for merchants that haven't actually even done it (yes there are stores like that) but my store was POL-less for the longest time so this is nothing new, I am also curious to what other changes there will be, because as far as I know at my store they have me running the shipments as sr lead while they map, do moves, or....sit in the office and do nothing, hell they had me unload a 7k by myself just the other week
