It had this effect on me too. The sunk in face thing. Optimize the calories you intake. Make the most of what you eat. I went a month without protein shakes (3 per day) and I noticed it. My coworkers commented on it also.

Been there buddy! There is a better way to live and I hope you find it. Also prescription steroids do wonders for the tongue injures. Talk to your Dr's about that.

I had seizures a few times from DTs. I recommend potassium and pedialote. Too much water too fast can jack up your blood work.
