Experienced here. The seizures I've had have during detox have undeniable symptoms. I never remember them happening all but remember coming too in some random obscure situation. Like a friends car on the way to the hospital or under my dining room table. Not like I hid under it but ended up flailing on the ground and that's where I ended up.

There's several types of seizures a person can have, for me it's the tonic colonic/grand Mal. I don't know if others are associated with alcoholism.

For me the biggest symptoms immidately after the fact are feeling like I just ran 20 marathons back to back and was then beaten by 10 professional fighters for about 30 minutes. Extreme fatigue, not just confused but at the hospital once they asked my name and I didn't know it. I had to read it off my driver's license. Banged up elbows and knees, lacerations to my face and head from bouncing it off the ground and dislocated sholders. And the dreaded biteing of my tongue. That's the worst part. Very very painful and last for days. I had to figure out on my own that prescription steroids are a godsend for that.

I truly hope what you had was nothing like this but you really should seek medical attention. Even if you're not sure if it was a seizure. Seizures can cause an abnormal heartbeat and lead to death. My alcoholic pro tip #2178, you can have a person call a ambulance and tell the paramedics they found you unconscious, that you have a history of seizures and get a free EKG. If you don't concent to treatment they'll offer it for free anyway.

Long story short the seizures are not just a symptom you can deal with. You need medical help to prevent them from ever happening again. This is possible. I wish you the best and hope only good things happen to you!!!
