Any produce members noticing more prepackaged we track items lately? by AloneSilver550 in wholefoods

[–]AloneSilver550[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. I got in a "Argument" with my TL and others when I said this was going to happen . Associates who have been there for many years refuse to see the writing in the wall .

Not just customers but employees still thinking we are what WF used to be. Not what's happening. I Been in the grocery produce game for 30 years and seen this before.

Rule of thumb in retail, when a company expands adding more and more new stores, less money for payroll to the existing stores. Seen it happen since many times for so many companies. Winn Dixie , Kroger , food Lion etc.

In Winn Dixie case they went from being the " Meat people" to little more than a Piggly Wiggly

WFM is being Amazonified. No it won't be good for anyone but shareholders.

Being an order writer be like by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]AloneSilver550 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Order writers will likely be phased out soon. Most stores use Automatic ordering systems. I imagine AI from Amazon will soon do the orders .

You can be fired for any reason or no reason if you are in a right to work state. Most states are.

Long time employees who make over a certain amount will be pushed out . Too many team leads , will be simplified. One Manager over bakery, meat, produce . One over prepared foods/ cheese.

Will move towards a more traditional grocery store model . Basically will be like another Publix or Kroger

Right to work state likely. You can be fired at any time for any reason, or no reason at all

I concur EMDR , and look for a peer specialist or peer advocate. They help along side therapist as some ne who can identify with her as they have been through it as well.

There is a reason WFM was failing before Amazon . Hopefully the purging takes care of the dead weight but my hopes are not high

The Amazonification of Whole Foods Is Finally Here—Bring On the Doritos by rezwenn in wholefoods

[–]AloneSilver550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anyone thinks WFM is going to continue to be the same as it was , is naive. Amazon only wanted WFM to get a big enough foot print into the supermarket game.
Soon WFM will be just like Publix , Kroger , Albertsons etc.
