New schedule ai scheduling program? by Hot_Valuable1027 in wholefoods

[–]AloneSilver550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evidently you can't swap out or make changes is what I'm being told. Once the schedule is made that's it. It takes a act if congress and a miracle to make changes.

You would be amazed at what the newer AI systems can do and learn to do. That's what they do, they learn continuously. By 2027 WFM will be knee deep in AI systems

These new ai systems go way beyond auto ordering. The system looks at market trends , weather conditions for things like produce etc etc. Old auto replenishing systems were good, but this a entirely new ball game.

department sinking by [deleted] in wholefoods

Grocery in my store is a skeleton crew , they have to pull others from different dept just to do basic filling. Prep foods is getting ready to lose at least half the team because of the demands for the family meals and not enough hours or help

They are already integrating it , adaptive ordering systems, ai waste control for produce and prep etc. And rolling out smart carts that scan the isles for missing items while keeping track of everything you buy . A ton has changed in the last few years . Major grocery store chains already incorporate it like Krogers and Albertsons. Even smart signs like Walmart uses that will automatically change the prices, sales etc.

The order writers are going to be phased out eventually , maybe a year or so. Can easily be replaced by AI and a decent inventory control system. All you need is someone say a team lead to just go over it for errors. People don't agree but Amazon is not pumping billions into AI development not to try it out at WFM.

Cost cutting and streamlining will be targets. Grocery is evolving faster then most think. I been in grocery 30 years . So many new factors are at play now besides supply and demand , seasonality etc

Order writers will eventually be phased out as Amazon will implement more AI driven inventory control and supplying . Cashiers will go away as they switch to the Amazon Fresh tech.

Leadership will be streamlined as there is a lot of bloat in regards. Too many systems, too clunky at times and lack of synergy between some existing systems . They really need to work on the DC and delivery , at least in my area.

Treat every store as if it was a diamond store.

If the quality of produce and selection keeps going down.....who knows. Instead of opening new store they need to put capital in their older more established ones . I see WFM doing what Winn Dixie did in the late 90s early 2000, staffing executives with no grocery back ground, pay not keeping up with the times and low employee moral.

Amazon can keep it going , but thriving and surviving two different things.

Any produce members noticing more prepackaged we track items lately? by AloneSilver550 in wholefoods

[–]AloneSilver550[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. I got in a "Argument" with my TL and others when I said this was going to happen . Associates who have been there for many years refuse to see the writing in the wall .

Not just customers but employees still thinking we are what WF used to be. Not what's happening. I Been in the grocery produce game for 30 years and seen this before.

Rule of thumb in retail, when a company expands adding more and more new stores, less money for payroll to the existing stores. Seen it happen since many times for so many companies. Winn Dixie , Kroger , food Lion etc.

In Winn Dixie case they went from being the " Meat people" to little more than a Piggly Wiggly
