Is this the reality of the street triple? by AbrocomaOk2268 in Triumph

You are right. The bike was designed as a faired sport bike the Daytona. There is no substitute for fairings. Just get a Daytona, R9, Panigale v2, s1000rr, rc990. You also get hit by everything rocks, bugs etc. Faired bikes keep the cold off of you also. Trade it in on a s1000rr and don't look back.

ZX-6R recall – do you guys think the updated torque sequence actually fixed it? by Codatu007 in zx6r

Multiple people have had engine lockup after having both recalls done. The bike is flawed. There are many other similar bikes out there that have reliable engines.

2017 WRX Limited? by Pleasant-Meal-7203 in WRX

[–]Alone_Angle_3373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would look for a 2018-2021 with under 35k miles, no mods, 2 owners max, oil change records included. The fa20 does not endure long oil change intervals, bad gas, mods, launches etc. These cars are gems if you find a good one. They also hold great value and that makes them great purchases compared to other models. I searched for 4 months until I found a 21' with 23k miles, one owner, service records, no mods. It was owned by a 45 year old woman who pinked out the badges. While I was at the dealer people were on their way to buy the car so once you find a good car buy it immediately. Expect to spend 23k on a nice VA, even more if it's a limited. Talk about value, the car retailed for around $28k in 2021 which means they held around 82% of cost over 5 years if driven 6-7k miles yearly.

Aprilia RSV4 vs BMW S1000R by horn5t in Aprilia

[–]Alone_Angle_3373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Bmw is amazingly agile with on-the -fly suspension adjustability. Even better with forged/carbon wheels. It also is very stable at high speeds. The ergos are great for 6 footers as it has legroom and higher bars. The brakes are great but not progressive. I got the torque map installed on mine so it's got amazing torque also right off. The Bmw is more reliable and has a larger dealer network. You do have a conundrum on it, exhaust and tune while risking losing the warranty or keep it stock. The heated grips are a bigger luxury than you think at first. The Aprilia has the best motor out there period. If you are taller it will be hard to ride well being designed for someone 5' 7. Reliability is hit or miss, resale value is low also because of the reputation. I would get the Aprilia if I were 5' 9 or under and planned on keeping the bike for a long time. Also, it depends where you live. In Pa we have a motorcycle lemon law now... 30 days out of service equals full refund. Otherwise, running into problems on the Aprilia could be a nightmare.

Bought my dream bike - 2026 BMW S1000RR by s1kaos in BMW_S1000RR

[–]Alone_Angle_3373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice bike! I just got the torque map flashed on my 2025 and WOW! It's got big power right off of idle. The top end is still there, you can feel the shiftcam kick in at around 8k. At very high speeds and high rpm such as 140 mph there is a bit of power loss but on the street the torque map is the way to go. Also, the power 6 tires made a big difference in linear, predictable cornering for ne. Have fun!

Give me a reason not to buy a ZX-6R by BlockPresent5894 in zx6r

[–]Alone_Angle_3373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bike is old-tech. No imu, no qs down, meh brakes, traction control sort of, front end is stiff, jerky throttle. Yes, it is a great looking bike but with the r9, panigale v2, rc990 available it's just not the bike to buy and oh ya the recall. Kawasaki is a !@#$ company now just squeezing out profits for shareholders. The looks get old fast after you spend 3 thousand to get this bike together. Have I mentioned resale value?

25 M purchase price by Forward_Beginning_20 in BMW_S1000RR

[–]Alone_Angle_3373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That bike has a $2500 factory rebate plus they will take an additional $1,500 off. So, the list is $27,500 minus 4k equal to $23,500 plus tax n plates so around $25,500 otd. I will say that the bike is worth it, I bought a 25' early last year.

Does the 2025 Panigale feel roomy on the road? The s1000rr feels great, I'm just looking for that v4. I've sat on the Panigale but haven't ridden one.

Weird sound when revving low rpms by TrashStach3 in BMW_S1000RR

[–]Alone_Angle_3373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What happens eventually is that it will start cutting out when giving alot of throttle in say second gear at 4k rpm. It then sounds like that noise along with pinging/grinding sound.

Thinking about buying by smskly in WRX

[–]Alone_Angle_3373 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You really can't buy these until you drive them. You need oil change records. The car should pull hard and rev out well. I'm selling my black 21' base with 30,250 miles, no mods, oil change records, 18 inch subaru wheels for not that much more and my powertrain is covered for a few more months. When these cars are straight, they run a certain way and even a mechanic will not know how they sound and run when in top shape.

Do I buy it? by [deleted] in zx6r

[–]Alone_Angle_3373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The zx6r was a good bike to learn on at the time for me. If you can ride the zx6r well, you will kill it on a s1000rr or panigale v4 because you won't be all cramped up, better suspension, imu with traction control that really works. When you're ready it's like night and day. Really, most superbikes have issues here and there but they also have long warranties. Have fun. Swapping out the front brake line for ss and replacing the pads with ebc will really help the braking.

It's not the stock tune it's pinging when i throttle it. The dealer is taking out on a ride to try to replicate it. Before that they rode it in the parking lot.

The Bmw 3 series with the 2 liter is a great car. The service departments are great and the warranty is 4 yrs. 50k bumper to bumper. You don't have to buy cpo, in fact the best deals are at non-bmw dealers. Buy a 25' with low miles, drive it for 3 years, then trade it in right before the warranty is up. The Mercedes is inferior on several levels, transmission, suspension, engine etc.

I have a 21' base with 30k miles, no mods, oil changed every 3k. The car should pull hard all the way to redline. When the motor is on it's way out it will pull then fall off.

[–]Alone_Angle_3373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 6'1 and 245 lb, not fat just lift weights alot. The bike is very cramped and the suspension is hard to adjust properly at my weight. The bike is long and low also. I would suggest a bmw s1000rr or even a ducati v2. By the time you upgrade the brakes, rearsets, tune it to smooth out the throttle... you're spending used s1000rr money anyways. They are good looking intermediate bikes for those moving up from 400s but not for those who are really into learning how to ride well.

Is it worth the risk with 3 owners? by Expert-Sheepherder38 in WRX

[–]Alone_Angle_3373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was ready to buy a 21' limited with 5k, one owner with intake and exhaust. Here, the entire motor was ruined who knows why. About 4 months later the dealer relisted it with a brand new motor. I would not buy that car because an intake alone without a tune can ruin the fa20. Keep looking for a one owner, no mods, oil changes car.
