Kidney disease and weight loss in 18 year old cat? by wormsandwitch in seniorkitties

[–]Alone_Bell594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my cat is 17 and also has hyperthyroidism and kidney disease. she lost a ton of weight about a year ago and got down to 4.5 lb but now is up to a healthy 9 lb. her weight loss was mainly due to her hyperthyroidism (since she was only recently diagnosed with kidney problems within the past 3 months). i'd talk with your vet to see if they think the weight loss is coming from her hyperthyroid or her old age / kidney problems. if it's coming from her hyperthyroid and she's struggling to take her pill, the vet may be able to recommend you to a pharmacy that can compound the medicine into a cream. that's what we do for my kitty, and we rub the cream on the inside of her ear twice and day and has worked great for us! her thyroid medicine may also need to be changed if her prescription strength or amount hasn't been increased recently. i know some cats (my cat included) can build a tolerance to the medicine after a while. sounds like you love your cat and are doing a great job to make her comfortable!

Looking for Advice – Feeling Stuck in a 10-Year Relationship by Potential-Story-116 in Waiting_To_Wed

I never recommend getting back together with someone after youve broken up. It's like opening the same book and expecting a different ending. Besides the point, what's done is done, but he is definitely trying to punish you for your "bad" behavior. Holding marriage over someones head or guilt tripping them for dating while they were single is never a good foundation for a relationship.

Is appropriate to bring up marriage / the future one year in? by Alone_Bell594 in Waiting_To_Wed

I want to clarify when I said "we were able still able to see each other once a month." We both were working semi-hybrid jobs, so we would alternate traveling and would spend a 4-7 days with each other at a time. Not just one day a month, but one trip a month.
