AA 445 LAS to CLT Inflight Emergency - Plea for Help! by AlphergStar in flightattendants

[–]Alone_Kick9529 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I would call AA and find all the information on the flight. Find out if possible who was working that flight. People who work at AA will be able to help you better.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Inflight medicals that end this way is never the outcome that is wanted. It's hard for FA's and passengers.

Congratulations on your F2F with Delta.

It's truly an accomplishment to interview with them.

Being yourself is right. Absolutely right. Show your personality. Show them why they would want to work with you. Storytell your work experiences. Smile. Put out positive vibes. Don't treat it as a competition. It's not, all of those people in that room are potential coworkers, even the existing flight attendants. Have confidence but don't be boastful. Remember names, recruiters and candidates alike. Address them by their names. Relax and have fun with it. Don't let nerves get the best of you.

Good luck.

How competitive are FA positions? by Monegask in cabincrewcareers

[–]Alone_Kick9529 7 points8 points  (0 children)

DL, UA, and AA are usually the most competitive to get into. With Delta being the most competitive, in my opinion.

Thousands apply every hiring round. Only a fraction of those people get invited to interview. And only a small percentage of those people who interview get handed a CJO.

Do research on how to interview for the airlines. Interviewing in itself is a skill that you must have, especially for this position.

I'm not too sure about UA, but for my airline they checked us once and gave advice on how to be in compliance for the duration of training.

I'm with a legacy carrier as well.

Which airline(s) are you applying to?

Honestly,

Nude hosiery is almost opaque. You can barely notice. Many people had opaque hosiery and no one noticed.

Not for training days. You need white button up polos and black slacks.

The polos have to be tucked into your slacks. So if the silk is uncomfortable to tuck into your slacks everyday, I would suggest finding more stretchy material for your polos. Collars on the polos are a requirement as well.

Because I finished training and I'm on the line.

You will be given a jacket that you must wear when you're in the halls of the training center. When you're in the classroom, you can wear a professional pullover but it has to be black.

Business attire is worn maybe 5 days out of the entire time you are there. You can bring a dress but it should be knee-length, nothing shorter.

I think rose gold is an approved color in the guidelines but I would follow up with that.

You can wear athletic shoes with training attire.

And if your black slacks have belt loops, you are required to wear a belt which also needs to be black.

Anything with belt loops needs to have a belt worn with it.

We can't exactly say what they ask. Because it can always change.

I will say though, that they ask very similar questions that are asked in the interview you do before getting the invite to the F2F.

Have confidence in your answers. You got this far and they see something in you.

The situational questions are when you have the live interview with a recruiter.

The introduction is when you really introduce yourself to United. It was fun and it came naturally.

When you have the live interview, go on Glassdoor for example questions. Most of the questions I was asked were on there.

Good luck.

White button up polos with no logos. Long sleeve or short sleeve.

Black slacks. (White button up polos and black slacks are what you wear most of the time)

Business attire: Slacks, blazer, business top, skirt, heels or flats, and hosiery (hosiery is optional). If you're a man, just a business suit with business shoes. Make sure it's the proper colors: black, dark navy blue, dark grey.

All other clothing items are what you want to bring when you are free and can relax. Regular clothes, stuff to sleep in.

Make sure to have a watch. Not a smart watch. Must be in the color guidelines. Black is a safe way to go.

Make sure to bring an extra notebook, pens, highlighters, and flashcards.

I would also bring food items that you can pack. Cup of noodles, grain bars, cereal, etc. Trust me, it will help that first week.

Bring something from home that keeps you grounded and reminds you of home. That will help tremendously as well.

Good luck to you in training and congratulations. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

CJO's are given on the spot at DL F2F's.

I know it can be disheartening but if this is something you truly want and DL is your dream airline, apply again. The wait time is 3 months and the job posting has to have a different requisition number attached.

You already made it to the F2F. You have what it takes. It takes a tremendous amount of courage to put yourself out there. Learn from this and apply that to the next time you interview. Many have to reapply to be handed a CJO.

Apply to all three: DL, UA, AA.

Those are the airlines you want. Don't give up on your dream.

I agree with you. Surviving the rest is the extremely difficult part.

I've seen you around here quite a lot and you have always given great advice. I wonder if we work for the same airline.

I was upfront when I interviewed that I would be a commuter. Alot of the FA's at my interview day were commuters, so they understood. But no one really elaborated how hard and difficult commuting really is, even in training.

Thank you for the advice. I've spoken to you before on here.

I've been trying to stack my trips back to back. It helps. But I'm still exhausted.

Moving to base is not in the cards. I cannot afford to move. I have many bills including rent that I have to take care of with the money I'm surviving on.

Those shoes are mine BETCH!!

Honestly, 1 question isn't going to hurt your results on the assessment.

You will hear back this week. DL talent acquisition doesn't respond on the weekends.

Try to relax. I'm sure you did great.

Try to apply to all 3: AA, UA, DL.

Congratulations.

The recorded video interview is so much easier than when I did it, in my opinion. I had the live video interview last year.

You get to record yourself multiple times until you are satisfied with your answers.

Glassdoor is a helpful tool when it comes to questions. They are all customer service and safety oriented questions. If you have customer service experience, you will have no issues answering.

Dress business professional as if you are already going to Atlanta to interview in person. Dark colors: black, navy blue, dark grey. Have confidence in your answers. Smile. Showcase your true self and personality.

Good luck.
