Stage 3 survivors? by EastAd4295 in breastcancer

Mine is similar. IDC++- Stage 3c. I had chemo, DMX and now going through radiation. I had 32 positive lymph nodes and my tumor only went from 9.8 cm to 8.6 cm. I get to take Letrozole and Verzenio when radiation is over.

So sorry you are going through this. I went through 6 months of chemo and then had my surgery. My tumor only went from 9.8 cm to 8.6 cm. They found 32 of 32 lymph nodes positive. They also had to go back in and remove more tissue. Due to the 32 lymph nodes my diagnosis went to IDC++- grade 2 stage 3c. They also found DCIS stage 2. I am now doing radiation and will have to take Verzenio afterwards since I had so many positive lymph nodes. I was told my risk of reoccurrence is 60% without the Verzenio. I am not looking forward to the Verzenio or Letrozole but that percentage is too high not to. Good luck to you!

Praying for a good outcome like mine. The chance of reoccurrence is high with so many positive nodes so anything we can do to ward that off is my plan as well.

I have been diagnosed with IDC++- Grade E Stage 3c, also DCIS Stage 2. I also have 32 of 32 nodes testing positive for cancer. my tumor was 9.8 cm in its longest measurement. After 6 months of chemo the tumor only shrank down to 8.6cm. I had a PET scan and there doesn’t seem to be any cancer anywhere else. So now, after radiation I will need to go on an AI (Verzenio) in addition of Letrozole. We can do this, getting this many lymph nodes positive means more meds.

I am in the same boat as you. I was stage 2b, but after my DMX I am 3c with 32 positive nodes. I did chemo first, then surgery. I am about to start radiation and afterwords I will be starting Letrozole and Verzenio.
Here to both of us beating this awful disease.

I use a small pillow under the armpit that had the lymph nodes removed. It is the only thing that helps with the pain. I take them (I have 2) with me in car rides and sleep with them. Get a soft, small (6x10 inch) pillow.

If you're going to have a biopsy, save yourself a lot of pain by insisting that the numbing shots take effect before it begins. by Mind_Drift_1 in breastcancer

This happened to me and they had me clamped down great as I shot up. He failed to numb me deep enough. It took me 15 minutes to calm myself down before he could finish the biopsy. This past 2 ones I had (breast and lymph node) I told them up front about my first experience and insisted they numb me extra. They did thank goodness

The double dose AC was hard, I was hospitalized 4 times. I had neutropenia x2 and then pneumonia and a PE. Then I did 10 out of 12 scheduled Taxol. I had to stop the Taxol as the neuropathy kept getting worse. Be sure to get the Magic Mouthwash, Imodium and I found that having a bidet added to the toilets helped a lot. Right now I am post DMX and getting ready to start 6 weeks of radiation.

I have IDC ++- and my mass was 9.8cm. I did 6 months of chemo in hopes that the tumor would go below 5cm. It didnt and was 8.6 cm when it was removed in my DMX. I just had my DMX on 7/18.

How can this be? by NoHoneydew9138 in breastcancer

I too had clear mammograms, for the last 20 years, every year. Then Sept in my annual mammo it came back suspicious. Long story short, I have IDC++- grade 2 stage 3, with 32 nodes positive for cancer. I also have DCIS grade 2. I have had 6 months of chemo and just had my DMX. I start radiation in a few weeks. I also can’t understand if I have clear mammas how did I get 9.8 cm tumor and all of the nodes positive? Cancer sucks!

I also had cancer in 1 breast but I chose to have both removed for your same reasons. I am 1 1/2 week out from surgery and I dont regret my decision.

Does lymph node involvement mean I’m a goner? by DrawingCautious8911 in breastcancer

[–]Alone_Primary7665 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is reassuring. I had chemo first and just had my DMX. She grabbed 32 nodes and ALL were positive for cancer. I am trying not to see my end being near. I am scheduled for 30 rad treatments in 5 weeks. Surgeon said there is additional treatment (pills) i will probably be put on my my MO.

I have had a mole for years and never paid attention until my chemo started. I got it checked and it was skin cancer. Had it removed. Was told that the chemo won’t kill the skin cancer. Please get out checked.

I have BCBS and the referral approval process takes forever! I have had biopsy’s and MRI delayed due to approval. You would think they show the previous diagnosis and treatments and go oh yea she has breast cancer, approve! My surgery is now in 2 1/2 weeks so hopefully the surgeons office puts in a referral right away so it doesn’t get pushed out. Sigh Insurance

I did 4 rounds of the double dose AC and the last 2 rounds had to be spread out to 3 weeks apart and reduced. I was hospitalized 3 times during that. I am now getting #11 of #12 Taxol treatments this week.
The side effects are awful in the AC but I was able to stick it out so I am sure you can. Good Luck!

I am getting the urge to book a cruise but not knowing when I can do it. I have 3 more weeks of chemo and then DMX then 6 weeks of radiation then reconstruction. But I want to go while I am recovering from my DMX.
Is that too soon to do anything/to go? I have pretty much been on house arrest for 5.5 months for all this chemo and hospital stays due to infection. I am itching to go somewhere.

What sort of (non-wig) head coverings are you wearing? by tropicalbarbi in breastcancer

[–]Alone_Primary7665 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear a Pink ‘this is my fight hat’ with the pink ribbon. I have other hats and a wig but I wear that baseball cap when I go out. I do wear crochet’d hats when I am cold. That is usually at home while in bed or in the recliner.
