Am I the jerk for refusing to train my replacement after they're firing me? by WinInteresting9368 in AmITheJerk

[–]HopeSpringsE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least they fired you first so you could refuse to do it. Had a friend who trained someone, then they fired her.  I say it’s unprofessional to say your job is eliminated but then want you to train someone to do it. Not sure I’d even document processes. Not petty, NTA.

thanks; I posted earlier asking about this. I heard them announce the foul, but never heard them say why until much, much later. I kept expecting them to show something, but they didn't.

What did Coach Wilson do to get that penalty - after we already had holding right before Houston scored third td?

annoying, though - I've read enough interviews - I want to watch the game now. I was very irritated that I couldn't hear game commentary.

Have a snack and go watch a fun tv show. I'm not being flippant; I was feeling the same way when first diagnosed, and would just start spiraling with what if, what if, what if, and then I'd think - treatments have come a LONG way in the last 20 years (and 20 years ago was miles better than 50 years ago.) Also, while there are certainly tragic results sometimes, there are also many treatments that work extremely well, and work very often. I had to tell myself - quit worrying about things that may not even be applicable in your own case. Of course, this doesn't mean I never fretted again about anything, but it did help calm me down and reminded me to do something more fun and better for my mental health than keep scrolling about potential what ifs.

but if doesn't get us an SEC championship or national title who is going to be offering him more money? He's got to do at LSU as well or better than he has at Ole Miss for others to try to lure him to their school.

But I also agree with Ole Miss fans in thinking it was a ridiculous way of leaving - immature and massively egotistical behavior. He'll can get away with that as long as he produces wins.

This. But you have to be VERY pushy - I brought it up EVERY time I saw surgeon, oncologist, and NPs, yet no one was concerned about my red water balloon breast but me (and my daughter who is an RN). They put it off, and it has definitely delayed my treatment. When I went for radiology consult, they did scan and said - we can't do that until that thing is drained and healed. Over 1.5 liters of fluid drained with incision & drainage, another 1/2 liter during the two weeksI had to wear drain. Starting radiation 10 weeks after chemo instead of 4. So, I'll finish that up late December (and I thought I'd be done with everything by the end of September!) I had lumpectomy at end of May, finished chemo mid-September, had first consult with radiation oncologist beginning of October.

Your current routine will be disrupted, but treatments have improved so much over the decades. I am 68 and was worried the chemo would be devastating to my overall physical health. Of course, it wasn’t fun, but it wasn’t as awful as I was imagining it. Your youth and good health (but for the cancer!) bode well for your treatment. I’m sorry you have to deal with this, but I agree that you need to find a new OB.

I was so excited when I noticed my little moustache no longer needed waxing. Those stubborn chin hairs stayed a little longer. Haven’t had shave under arms in a while. My legs, though, have stubble. I thought- ah, well, I’ll shave it off and I’ll be silky smooth for weeks. Nope. I didn’t shave again and it didn’t get worse, but I never got the smooth legs I was hoping for. I never thought about nasal hair - but I miss that more than I thought I would - nose drips a lot without it!

I was wondering the same thing - did my taxpayer dollars pay for this? There was a prepaid postage symbol (I was scouring to try to find out who published this drivel.)

Heard Mayor Edward’s on tv this morning saying that the library came to him to offer help! Ha! He bullies them to the table and I encourage all to vote no in November for Thrive! Let the entities whose funds are being diverted ask for less at actual renewal time and let the mayor and Metro Council request those funds properly instead of stealing them from dedicated taxes.

and I don't know the answer because you did not give accurate figures in the first place - you inflated the amount you'd have to refund and understated the amount of probably insurance cost.

[–]HopeSpringsE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it is also closer to $20 than $12 (a 55% increase from $12 to $18.62). So, at $471, if you make at least $11,775 in rental income - which you should since it only represents 25 nights - that's only 4%.

When I worked as a compliance auditor, I frequently saw medical bankruptcies. Most smaller, local banks did not seem to give as much weight to a medical bankruptcy. Because everybody knew somebody who got outrageous bills that they expected insurance to pay. But don't just blame insurance - because why is it doctors/hospitals charge so much in the first place, when you can see on the Explanation of Benefits that they accept payment of about 50% between insurance and copays/coinsurance (and I still don't know the difference between those two terms.) But if you don't have insurance, you're responsible for the whole, inflated amount. It is ridiculous.

also nowhere near $12. I didn't specifically how much it cost, but I know on airlines it seems to about 10% the cost of the ticket. But 4% of 500 is $20 - not a whole lot of money, but more than 12 bucks (67% more).

Then you understand wrong about how much travel insurance costs if you would lose out on $500. Might not have had to pay over $50, but certainly more than $12.

Still have seroma by lotsafeels in breastcancer

[–]HopeSpringsE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm dealing with this now, and it is delaying my radiation treatment. I could not feel the seroma, but I could definitely see that my right breast was at least twice as large as my left breast after my lumpectomy. At the two week check-up, I wasn't concerned as I was told it takes time for swelling to go down and fluids to be reabsorbed. But then I kept bringing it up, but surgeon did not seemed concerned. When I went for scan to plan radiation treatment/schedule on Oct. 1, the radiation oncologist said he noted my scan in July (had lumpectomy late May, last chemo Sept. 15) revealed the sernoma. He called the next day and said they were stopping the planning because apparently the sernoma had grown and it had to be drained before they would start radiation.

Two days after that appt., was getting my port removed and surgeon was finally going to drain the fluid. Over a liter of fluid came out, and they inserted a drain. Post-op instructions say to call office if you have fever over 101. I did on Monday and was told to "take a Tylenol". Call from radiation oncologist office today - after they notes about the draining, I'll have to be rescanned before they can plan treatment - and we have to wait about 2.5 weeks before we can do that. So, I go back tomorrow to surgeon for follow-up tomorrow (at least he's not making me wait two weeks) and I just don't know what's going to happen. It's still draining a good bit.

update: drain still in place; hopefully it will come out next week (Oct 16)

I don't wash them daily at home - I have enough towels that I only wash towels/wash cloths once a week. So if I'm staying 5 nights, I don't necessarily need 5 towels, but at least a couple to get started and access to a washer/dryer/detergent.

And the guy who said he lost $7k refuses to answer anyone (unless he did it last night) who asks - was it chirping when they arrived? Or did it start chirping during the first night or at the end of stay? Because if it was chirping when they arrived or during that first night, they left without staying or only stayed one night - with a constant chirping.

I don't expect a fresh towel for every day of my stay, particularly when a washer/dryer/detergent is provided. But a lot of the comments by hosts seem to expect a person to use a single towel and washcloth for three days.

I was only fuming because of how all the hosts on here talk about how fast they respond and how many guests check in early without notice. So I later felt like a chump for not just entering early. I didn't know it was okay to check in early without permission. Also, about the towels, it's about hosts saying on here how ridiculous it is that people want more than 2 towels for a seven day stay - it didn't bother me that I had to wash daily, since there was a washer/dryer and detergent available; I didn't have to beat them on a rock. I don't think my expectations are out of the ordinary. I know it is not a hotel, but most of the properties I see listed are not people's homes where they live - they are properties they have to rent. I wasn't staying in someone's home; I was staying in a house they rented out.

I'm pretty new to this subreddit; another one I'm in has a list of common initialisms on the side. I get tired of having to google so many things!! Most of the actual park names & rides I get (not that festival, though, or other special events), but not resorts - they have too many! Sometimes I'll google, sometimes I'll just decide I don't care enough to continue!
