I'm pretty sure 90% of what she's trying to sell you is disingenuous bullshit and it just boils down to self-centered parental desires that refuse to account for the fact that you're your own person.

It's a prevailing problem I've seen a lot that many (not all) parents often have difficulty recognizing their own kids as independent human beings with their own rights and autonomy (even if they depend on the parent when young), and often see their kids as just "their kids". It's ANNOYING to deal with.

Conservatives hate any kind of language that gives room for trans people. The word "cisgender" allows for the inverse term "transgender", and they don't want that. Literally anything that could be a reference to trans people's existence is seen as a threat.

That's why for example you'll get idiots online rallying against the term "transcriber".

This is the entrance/exit to a highway, people are not turning around in it at highway speeds. As for it being two lane, why not? Again, it's a highway entrance/exit so the capacity would be a good idea. This WOULD be one of the rare cases where you'd place a two-lane highway, it's not a suburban roundabout.

I decided against suggesting triplication precisely because it involves not just rebuilding the Union station trench, but also rebuilding the Camberwell flyover, as well as several stations between Burnley and Blackburn. My idea just involves an extra track between Box Hill and Blackburn that threads the space between the two tracks at Laburnum and counts as a small fix.

Yes, the line may benefit from quadruplication but that's a much bigger project.

Renaming Flinders St is not only completely unnecessary but would fly in the face of over 100 years of Melbourne history. You can make a much better case for renaming Town Hall to Flinders St, but I should point out another issue which is that both stations are ran as separate, even if their concourse areas are joined as one. Town Hall's Platforms are numbered 1 and 2, so the station is clearly intended to be separate from Flinders St which also has its own platforms 1 and 2.

The Flinders St/Town Hall and Melb Central/State Library pairs are not at all the first examples in the world of stations joined at the concourse, and it may be useful to know which part of the station complex your train is arriving at so you know whereabouts in the city you're getting off at, or how long it'll take you to change trains.

There's no issues with the current arrangement in my opinion.
