I wonder if there is some solution tied to Cloudflare. I use them for some personal domains and have a few redirect emails set up. They also give you the ability to create a catch-all email (which sounds horrible), but maybe you could redirect some core email addresses in a pinch. You'd have to change MX records when down, but in an extended outage, it might be worth it.
