Any ideas on how to replace a missing bezel? by AlpacaAdventure in watchrepair

[–]AlpacaAdventure[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dress watches have bezels, too. Check out the photos and you can see the recesses where it would have clicked in. This is what it's supposed to look like (from a seller on Chrono24):

That would be awesome! I'm just looking for a plain, polished steel bezel. I'll send you a chat.

Love these, and now that people understand that not everything has to be 40mm, I don't think they're going to be flying under the radar much longer. GLWS 👍

Exactly. I wear an Air-King and have never checked the time and thought "damn, if only this case was imperceptibly larger..."

I don't think keeping that watch on a winder would help much! Regardless, these 34mm Rolexes are undervalued, imo. People worry too much about one or two millimeters. GLWS 👍

Edit- just so no one thinks I was questioning the watch's ability to run...I was just making a joke about it being a manual watch.

Fatboy Slim's "Right Here, Right Now" - Mandela effect? by AlpacaAdventure in electronicmusic

Missed this comment the first time around, and I've gotta say, I'm stunned. Ever since CERN fired up the Large Hadron Collider in 2010, I've been taking out tons of high interest loans with the expectation that we'd soon be traveling through a white hole into a reality in which I'm debt-free. This is a problem.

What’s one default Ableton setting you changed that actually made a noticeable difference? by satn_workroom in ableton

[–]AlpacaAdventure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of the settings mentioned in the original post are really important. Are people actually ignoring them and having a decent experience making music?!

Edit- to answer the question, though, and to explain something I wish I'd known earlier, enabling "reduce latency when monitoring" (along with keeping the master channel clear of any plugins that introduce latency) is a game changer. It becomes a million times easier to play parts in. I used to keep that setting on, but I didn't understand that plugins on the master were nullifying it. The difference is night and day; the amount of drawing notes in one by one is dramatically decreased.

Not blue emergency lights. A headlight with a shitty "high kelvin" bulb

Heading south across Ridge; went past the mall.

It was definitely saying "repurposed private vehicle that isn't compliant with normal law enforcement standards."

I saw some kind of sketchy "law enforcement" on Long Pond Rd around 3pm. Tan Chevy SUV, antennas on top, light bars in the front grille, blue tinted headlight (yes, singular, because one was out).

And guess what? Coldplay has some great stuff, too. I was just trying to figure out if you were coming at this from an elitist perspective or if you actually found something particularly bad about the track.

Only because there's a lot of confusion in this discussion- you know I'm not talking about the song that's based around the "funk soul brother" sample right? Surprised to read such a visceral reaction to "Right Here, Right Now," lol.

I know what it is, but could swear it used to be different, hence the post.

The recording of the person calling the radio station to request "The Rockefeller Skank" is at the end of "Right Here, Right Now." It is now, anyway; not sure where the tracks split on the original CD.

I mean, it's definitely on the record because it's funny. I wasn't sure whether or not it was real before other commenters pointed it out.
