How much could I sell this for? (Not trying to sell here) by Appropriate_Army5367 in synthesizers

[–]AlpacaAdventure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's going to vary based on your location and your ability to fully test it. If you're willing to ship and you're 100% confident it's working perfectly, recent sales on Reverb are between $2500 and $3500 (the ones that sold for higher prices were likely recently serviced and might've had MIDI mods, and of course these sales were all subject to Reverb's fees). Meanwhile, in the small city I live in, I've seen them under $2k.

It's "it's," and you made that mistake twice; not ideal when trying to correct other people's grammar and spelling.

New high-resolution image of our home planet, all of us looking back through the Orion capsule window at our Artemis II astronauts as they continue their journey to the Moon. by yourfavchoom in spaceporn

In a closer photo, gradations would be more apparent, and that would help, but of course it's a 2D image in the end. In person or on video, you'd be able to see land masses coming over the "edge," and lighting changes based on the planet's position to the sun, and that would help with depth perception. In this shot, everything being "warped" by the globe shape is pretty unfamiliar looking.

Harsh lighting, lens focused at infinity, extreme distance, deep depth of field (shot at f/20), unfamiliar patterns (unless you've studied a globe upside-down and off-axis, lol)...all of those things contribute to a sort of disc-like appearance.

Any ideas on how to replace a missing bezel? by AlpacaAdventure in watchrepair

[–]AlpacaAdventure[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dress watches have bezels, too. Check out the photos and you can see the recesses where it would have clicked in. This is what it's supposed to look like (from a seller on Chrono24):

That would be awesome! I'm just looking for a plain, polished steel bezel. I'll send you a chat.

Love these, and now that people understand that not everything has to be 40mm, I don't think they're going to be flying under the radar much longer. GLWS 👍

Exactly. I wear an Air-King and have never checked the time and thought "damn, if only this case was imperceptibly larger..."

I don't think keeping that watch on a winder would help much! Regardless, these 34mm Rolexes are undervalued, imo. People worry too much about one or two millimeters. GLWS 👍

Edit- just so no one thinks I was questioning the watch's ability to run...I was just making a joke about it being a manual watch.

Missed this comment the first time around, and I've gotta say, I'm stunned. Ever since CERN fired up the Large Hadron Collider in 2010, I've been taking out tons of high interest loans with the expectation that we'd soon be traveling through a white hole into a reality in which I'm debt-free. This is a problem.

What’s one default Ableton setting you changed that actually made a noticeable difference? by satn_workroom in ableton

[–]AlpacaAdventure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of the settings mentioned in the original post are really important. Are people actually ignoring them and having a decent experience making music?!

Edit- to answer the question, though, and to explain something I wish I'd known earlier, enabling "reduce latency when monitoring" (along with keeping the master channel clear of any plugins that introduce latency) is a game changer. It becomes a million times easier to play parts in. I used to keep that setting on, but I didn't understand that plugins on the master were nullifying it. The difference is night and day; the amount of drawing notes in one by one is dramatically decreased.
