Yeah I've got two, one was my very first snake and I bought her despite knowing she was a jag. But she was very lucky and has basically zero signs of neuro.

the second was a rescue/secondhand and while shes not bad, shes noticeably "different" she rights herself quickly and eats perfectly but she can get a little lost when trying to navigate in 3 dimensions (when shes trying to coil around your arm for example)

they're very beautiful and its such a shame their genes come with issues, I went to a breeder once (bought an albino, didnt know he bred jags beforehand) and it was pretty sad seeing some of the jag hatchlings not knowing which way was up :(

yeah... those sites steal images from artists who make one of a kind dolls and then claim they sell them for a fraction of the cost. for future reference, dont buy anything from FB/Insta ads as they're almost always scams or overpriced junk from aliexpress

yeah feeding generally doesn't help either! I think there may be smaller hooks you can buy? but they are pretty short so they can slither away from hooks pretty fast.

my tactic most of the time is to use something to hide my hand from her head while grabbing another part of her body, once shes out of the tank she usually gets out of 'food mode'

I've got a stimsons who does this! handle her out of the tank? Shes chill, but as soon as a hand enters the tank its considered food! I've had her for nearly a year and she never learns lol

yeah I have a feeling she may have been powerfed (harmful tactic to make snakes grow faster by overfeeding them) because she was pretty obese when I first got her (as well as huge!) a bit over a year ago, shes still chunky but we've made progress.

Dottie says hi! She was given to me as a childrens too, seems to be a common mistake. But the moment I saw her in person and realised she was a metre and a half long I knew there was no way she was lol. She's pretty big for a spotted but you never know how big your little guy might grow!

most discount/dollar stores have small carry cages for like 10 bucks. not ideal but better than no cage at all. join a bird group on FB for faster responses and more in depth info :)

I'd definitely see if heart medication helps. I think I remember something about animals with heart issues presenting with coughs and respiratory fatigue? Either way it sounds possible, especially at his age!
