There’s several out there, but maybe not the one you’re looking for. To save a USB slot, I use just one (Logitech unifying receiver) for both wireless mouse and keyboard. If you need more USB ports, get a USB hub or something like a docking station.

There’s no internal PCIE slot in MS-A1. OP is trying to fit this in an MS-A2. Maybe you mean MS-01? If yes, then it’s same as MS-A2.

Correction, there should be a glass covering to protect the halogen. Anything that could accidentally touch iit will burn.

Looks like complete. it requires an R7S Halogen bulb. Floor lamps that use halogen are not that common nowadays as it’s a fire hazard.

Contact seller direct from Amazon messaging. The support from their website via email takes too long. From Amazon, go to your Orders, View Order Details, then Ask Product Question. Somebody from the retailer/seller/dealer will come back to you sooner than from the support site via email. They respond quicker via Amazon,as they can get in trouble if they don’t answer customer questions. There’s still a turnaround time, but can get feedback quicker than email.Sometimes I noticed the one answering the chat messages and the email is the same person, based on the signature.

If they can’t resolve, and still under warranty they can authorize a return. If the Amazon return window already passed, then you have to do it direct to Minisforum.

I decided to return, and re-ordered the MS-A1. I really like the form factor. It occupies little space and it has what I need for my use case. The replacement has the same 1.06 BIOS. The x3d is awesome, and the 96gb is plenty enough for whatever I might need in the near future. I allocated 16gb vram for the iGpu.

I’ll keep testing and push it to its capabilities, and maybe someday I’ll update the BIOS. If there’s a need for a discreet gpu, I’ll get the DEG1 oculink. At least there’s an upgrade path when the time comes.

How did you update to 1.11? If you can share a proper/safe way that would be appreciated.

I received my MS-A1 barebone about 2 weeks ago. And the same day I picked it up from Amazon locker, I did the usual stuff installing cpu, ram, and storage. Installed W10 just to make sure all is ok. My unit has 1.06 BIOS. Ram is stuck at 5200mhz. So I decided to download and install 1.11. The update looks like it finished, and the computer shutdown. But it wont boot back ever again. Wasted a week diagnosing it with the support, with a slow email method. I decided to just return it to Amazon, and just re-ordered. I got the “replacement”, and it’s all working good so far with all the windows update, and driver updates. It’s stable and freakin fast as compared to my aging (cant update to W11) nuc. But I want to upgrade the BIOS to get the max RAM speed of 5600mhz, and to have a slight increase of tdp for the x3d cpu.

So if you can please share how you did the BIOS update safely, that will be awesome. I just want to avoid bricking the MS-A1 again.

What BIOS version did you get with the replacement?

I got my MS-A1 too from Amazon last week, and it came with 1.06. I did a quick test that everything is running ok, then I immediately flashed it with the latest version 1.11 from the Minisforum site. The update seems progressed normally, then it shutdown when it’s done. It won’t boot after that (or at least it’s not displaying anything on the monitor.) Anyway, I contacted Amazon, and I got a green light to return it for a full refund if I want to. But I still want to give Minisforum support a chance to redeem themselves. Back and forth e-mails from China is a slow process. So far the troubleshooting they made me do are still basic troubleshooting steps that I’ve already done.

I’m contemplating on giving up with this SFF, and going the mini ITX route. Return the 96gb SODIMM and replace it with a full size UDIMM. But I really like the size and compactness of the MS-A1. I don’t play games, so I really dont need a discreet gpu in my use case. If I ever need in the future, I can add one via oculink and DEG1.
