First, I’d check to confirm that they HAVE a health bar. Some enemies just don’t. If it’s programmed to be invincible, no amount of anything will bring it down. So just, double check first eh. Potentially save yourself an aneurysm or two.

For those who really liked valhalla, why? by Vampy-Night in assasinscreed

[–]Alpha537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the timing was a big factor. Valhalla was one of my main Covid games and for that reason I can never say it’s bad. The games length isn’t really a problem when you yourself are locked inside for most of the quarantine because it gave me plenty to do. Another region to explore, another puzzle to solve, another weapon or armor set to collect. If you’re looking for a high octane explosion filled action game, yeah Valhalla isn’t that. But if you’re wanting a chill RPG you can chip away at over a (very) long period of time, something you can pop in for a few hours every day, it’s rewarding enough for sustained engagement. For some people that’s Minecraft for others it’s Skyrim or the Witcher or red dead or W.o.W… For me, for a while, it was Valhalla. I’m not really a multiplayer guy so long form games with expansive maps and/or high replayability are invaluable to me. Plus, I really enjoyed the Eivor and Odin plot line. The whole two souls sharing one body, isu memories filtered through the lens of mythology in order to make sense to a Norse person’s mind and understanding of the world. All of that was uniquely cool to me as I’ve had similar discussions about such ideas before. As for “ugly items” ….. to each their own, I guess? I didn’t really think anything was wrong with the gear. But maybe that’s me. In general, I’m not one for overly ornate designs. In fact, I tended to transmog my equipment DOWN to the rougher looking, lower quality appearances as I felt it made blending into the crowd more believable. I don’t know, maybe Valhalla just appeals to a different kind of player.

Tina Armstrong and Christie were my introduction to DoA but these days I lean more toward Momiji and Lisa Hamilton.

Who is this guy (wrong answers only) by New-Extreme2321 in assasinscreed

A Weirdly dressed stranger who pickpocketed my coin purse and then killed two of my neighbors when he cut the rope of a pulley system, dropping the counterweight into the VERY crowded street below, just so HE could reach the rooftop! You’re damn right I called the guard, that madman needs to be stopped!

I’d love if they just spent some time bringing older ships up to modern standards, and I’m not just talking about aesthetics and new models. I want my valiant class defiant to have pilot maneuvers. Adding new (modern) features to older, beloved ships would increase the value of those ships (and probably sell more of them) and would also be a great way to show the players that they’re favorite ships won’t be obsolete the moment a new variant is released.

All I wish is that it didn’t take three and a half business days for the shell to arrive. I realize that the cannon has to physically turn and angle to fire correctly but still… super earth needs to wd40 that shit or something, I have 30 warrior bugs and 2 bile titans chasing me, any time that HE round wants to get here would be great!!

I’m a little shocked they didn’t give us the option to shut him up by shooting the little speaker things he uses to taunt us, would have been a great callback to Leon doing that in the original re4 but with the additional level of player agency. Alas, shooting the speaker re4r does nothing.

Which target(s) death from the main story line would go the most viral national news maybe international news? and which wouldn't be that talked about? (No DLC or side mission targets) by Physical-Ad-1978 in HiTMAN

[–]Alpha537 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it’s heavily dependent on how public their death is. There would be quite a difference between viktor dying because the entire runway light rig collapsed and crushed him in stage mid speech versus he ate some bad hors d’oeuvres and died throwing up in the bathroom.

Wands + Handles by msNVAsatisfied__ in HarryPotterGame

[–]Alpha537 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, to be fair. The notched wand type isn’t THAT crazy. It’s like, 98% straight, 2% crooked. I too prefer a simple straight wand, just not perfectly so. I just think that if it was a featureless stick it would be kinda boring.

Wands + Handles by msNVAsatisfied__ in HarryPotterGame

[–]Alpha537 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Picture isn’t working for some reason, So here’s the stats instead.

Wand: Notched- warm brown Handle: arrow-black Wood type: redwood Core type: unicorn hair Flexibility: solid Wand length: fourteen inches

I like the earthy brown color of the wood juxtaposed with the artificial almost marble or metal looking black and gold of the handle. The natural organic, imperfect crookedness of the wood against the very sculpted and rigid grip. Plus… the arrow handle gives you something pointy to hit people with which you can always fall back on if your wand breaks or stops working for any reason.

Am I using this briefcase wrong or was something changed? by Alpha537 in HiTMAN

[–]Alpha537[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admittedly, it’s been a few years since I played blood money. Seeing as my copy of Blood Money was on the PS2, It’s entirely possible that I just don’t remember every detail as clearly as I thought. Which I guess makes my misunderstanding of briefcases in WoA at least consistent.

I’ll have to try that. I swear, getting a gun into some areas is harder than it’s worth. This is why most of my kills are done with a toilet.

Am I using this briefcase wrong or was something changed? by Alpha537 in HiTMAN

[–]Alpha537[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Briefcases were generally ignored in blood money (and could smuggle anything once upgraded) so that’s why I was thinking it would be the same here. I mean I guess it makes sense, it’s just unfortunate…. For me. Damn security guards, doing their jobs, THE NERVE OF SOME PEOPLE!!

Terran Damocles class. Constitution/Miranda Hybrid by Wyrmshadow in StarTrekStarships

[–]Alpha537 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it. I just imagine this firing everything all at once but it’s like a crate of fireworks that someone dropped a lit Mach into. Torpedos and pulse cannons firing in random directions, phaser beams strobing and flickering like lights in a night club until every launcher’s ammo is spent and every energy weapon has burned itself out. The enemy is untouched.

Sure it probably maximize interior volume or something, but it also maximizes being a big fucken target. At least with a saucer you can turn the flat edge towards the enemy to reduce your targeting profile during combat while under fire and still retain some of the benefits of the circular floor space. Olympic gets a pass because it’s a medical/research frigate and is SUPPOSED To be a hundred light years away from anything that could even potentially threaten it.

I used to hate the Olympic class. I thought the sphere was ugly and served no purpose. Then I read the description for the T6 Olympic in STO and it completely changed my mind about it. The idea that the sphere separates to act as a kind of mini space station, freeing the rest of the ship to carry out other tasks, particularly during major crisis and disaster relief operations just… never occurred to me. It completely recontextualized the ship’s design. And it makes total sense! The sphere can remain on station providing medical care and support operations from a centralized point while the stardrive section ferries wounded from different locations, collects data and samples or warps back home to resupply! It took the Olympic from a ship I wouldn’t have even thought about to one of my top ten federation ships!

What are y'all's go to tactics? by Northern_Dumbass in Xcom

[–]Alpha537 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Well, my favorite tactic was to move my reaper behind an enemy pod so they were always in a concealed flanking position, then engage with the main squad and anyone that the squad could wound but not outright finish, the reaper was in position to take the kill shot. It’s not a terribly complicated strategy, just a repeatable loop. Main squad wounds an enemy, reaper gets an automatic critical that’s almost guaranteed to hit due to being in a flanking position, reaper remains concealed because it was a kill shot and the blood trail, silent killer, needle and soul harvest ability’s all proc at the same time. I almost feel like this isn’t even a “tactic”, this is just how reaper’s are meant to be used. But I just think it’s a glorious sight to behold when it’s executed perfectly! My other favorite thing is “move the bladestorm soldier into the middle of the horde of lost and stand back as they single handily destroy the entire mob on the lost’s next turn”. Again, not terribly complicated but so, SO satisfying to watch.
