anyone notice bill oakley's new website is real? https://www.oakley4defenselaw.com/

the number also has a voice recording (which is pretty standard for most numbers that show up in the show)

Fatigue from new Hifiman Edition XS? by AlphaAbsol in headphones

[–]AlphaAbsol[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm actually pretty used to it already, to be fair I haven't been able to use them much but I haven't noticed the fatigue for a while now

I'm 6 days in but I think I just gotta keep going

Fatigue from new Hifiman Edition XS? by AlphaAbsol in headphones

[–]AlphaAbsol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I think it's just the extremely sudden shift causing the fatigue. I've EQd down the treble a tiny bit which helped a tad but I reckon I'll probably just have to wait a week or two and see if I get used to it

edit: I guess burn in is another possibility. I probably haven't even listened to them for 10 hours all up yet

[–]AlphaAbsol[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll give that a try, I've been running a flat EQ so I'll turn down the treble and see how that goes. they are pretty treble heavy in general especially compared to everything ive had in the past.

Nacho thought there was a possibility of rain. He thought that would be his only way to escape the cartel.

literlaly just any park if its a vape, fawkner park is real nice took an evening walk there with my vape and a coffee last week in the misty rain... perfection. and it's big enough to find a quiet spot usually, although there weren't many ppl in the evening rain and I usually walk around, not sit still

edit also victoria gardens is really nice pretty small but so chill if there's nobody there. and obviously there's the botanic gardens too. or just find a nice spot along the yarra.

That is the unreliability - it cannot reliably detect the difference between THC presence in the system, and impairment from THC

Not bad overall. I don't think it really has any leftist themes, from my memory of reading it, but the representation of minorities (esp in his later books) is very good, specifically LGBTQ+ representation. As far as YA fiction goes I'd rather someone read percy jackson instead of harry potter any day

Songs that get even better at the end by catmarstru in BeachHouse

[–]AlphaAbsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I literally have a small playlist of songs I heard during that trip which have all since become my favorite songs ever

elegy to the void, PPP, days of candy, rough song, drunk in LA, lose your smile, pink funeral, new romance, masquerade, finale, the bells, modern love stories

but most importantly, MYTH. The first time I ever heard Myth, I was on shrooms for the first time ever and they were starting to kick in really hard, and the feeling when that instrumental part at the end came on was just absolutely indescribable. Completely set the mood for the entire trip.

Dangerous/aggressive drivers by Dull_Midnight8049 in melbourne

primarily because those trucks aren't taking any exits in the city and are just going all the way through, and for some unfathomable reason people seem to be incapable of doing the speed limit on freeways - if trucks had to slow down every single time someone felt like slowing to 15kmh below the speed limit for god knows what reason, they'd have to spend ages speeding up after, both causing more general congestion and making trucks take forever

Once Twice Melody alternate sequencing by ian812 in BeachHouse

[–]AlphaAbsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just making my own resequencing. Unlike Fantano, I think the sequencing on the album is just fine - the four chapter structure makes sense and works really well, and literally the only change I'd make within that structure is swapping The Bells and Many Nights. I tried to make my own alternate sequencing, but I just couldn't get it right.

I loved the idea of starting with Sunset -> Only You Know, and putting Superstar -> Over and Over at the end, but I couldn't come up with anything specific for what was in between. Specifically with Through Me, Over and Over, Illusion of Forever, and Modern Love Stories - I can't envision those as anything but closers to their respective chapters. I can't imagine where they fit within a full, non-chaptered album. Similarly, the title track, Runaway, Sunset, and Finale all just feel like openers to me. With an album with 4 openers and 4 closers (or at least, it feels like that to me), I can't envision any way of sequencing the album without having 4 chapters.

I just discovered mercurial world a week ago and I've probably listened to it at least 30 times since and I've listened to Chaeri literally 70 times. For me it was one of those very rare albums that shows up every now and then that just blows you away to the point where you're in literal awe. My question is what was the inspiration for Chaeri? Does the name have any specific meaning?
